This weekend, winter will remind D.C. that it's right around the corner: The National Gallery of Art's Sculpture Garden Ice Rink opens and Ford Theatre's production of "A Christmas Carol" kicks off. Plus, Cirque du Soleil wraps up its fantastical run in D.C.

Christmas is coming, and to prove it, "A Christmas Carol" begins its run tonight at Ford's Theatre. The production, a D.C. tradition that began in 1980, will continue through Dec. 31. Tickets are still available and cost between $45 and $75. 7:30 p.m., 511 10th St. NW.
