There was a lot of speculation as to whether or not The Muppets would make a guest appearance when Jason Segel hosted the Thanksgiving episode of SNL, and the suspense didn't drag out for long. Popping up to help Segel sing his way through his opening monologue, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo and more nearly stole the show, as they lamented the fact that they weren't formally asked to host along with their movie co-star.

Of course, no appearance from The Muppets would be complete without a snarky take-down from beloved curmudgeons Waldorf and Statler, who didn't particularly enjoy Segel's opening number.

The appearance was the latest in The Muppets viral comedy marketing campaign for the new movie, which has seen everything from Twilight-inspired posters to a disturbing Saw parody.
