David Frum: Fox News Blacklisted Me Following Rush Limbaugh Criticisms

David Frum

Frum made the charge in a piece for New York magazine. Back in 2009, he authored an article for Newsweek "arguing that Republicans would regret conceding so much power to Rush Limbaugh." According to Frum, he had been a frequent contributor on Fox News but "some kind of fatwa was laid down" on him following his Newsweek article.

Frum wrote that producers would call to book him on a segment. He then described the "embarrassed second call" he would receive, in which those same producers would call him back to say they had decided to go "'in a different direction.'"

Frum has since become a fierce critic of Fox News. Most famously, he said in 2010 that "Republicans originally thought that Fox worked for us, and now we are discovering we work for Fox."

Frum's wife, Danielle Crittenden is currently a managing editor with HuffPost Canada.

That may be the results of valuing ideology and perception over the fact based discussions and honesty.

Sounds a little bit like sour apples to me. Would he have attained this revelation had he still been feasting on FOX's dime? Hard to say. It's not exactly is if Mr. Frum has emerged from the shroud of failed conservatism to emerge on a more altruistic plane? Again; hard to say. I just wish people would come to these darling conclusions without a loss of money or exposure being involved.

Another "conservative" (sic) learns the hard way that this is all about power, not point of view, and finds he was just being used as a tool when it was convenient. I'm underwhelmed.

I have no doubt Liberals would believe this guy.

But just like everything else Liberals believe, this is false.

FOX has more Liberals in front of the camera than MSNBC, CNN, CBS, ABC, and NBC have Conservatives in front of the camera - COMBINED.

Bob Beckel is a regular member of the program "The 5" and is a regular on Hannity.

He REGULARLY goes off on Rush Limbaugh and scores of other Republicans.

This is is dishonest, plain and simple.....which is why Liberals love him.

Troll queen, you offer no proof, so back under your bridge, please. Ignorance is no excuse for being a conservative.

I guess it really depends on what you consider a, "liberal". as far as most righties are concerned, anyone to the left of Bachmann is a liberal. So, in a sense (as intellectually dishonest as it may be in spirit) you may have a point. However, you're still full of beans if you actually believe this statement to have a lick of rational truth to it.

Fake news and its followers will pay big time for putting power in the mouth of a hatemonger such as Rush Limbaugh.

You are known by the company you keeps.

Isn't this sort of response, a dead war horse conjured by Fox News, getting old? Please, if any of these alleged 'friendships' mattered, McCain would be President. Try and develop a sense of relevance.

1) Other than a payday from Fox, who cares? 2) Fox should blacklist him. 3) Frum bit the hand that feeds. The fantasy, fairytale, drug induced domain of Limbaugh pays dividends for Fox and its viewers. They thrive on his opinion which is fed as fact to dumbed down America. It makes MONEY and that's all that matters in today's world of fair and balanced journalism. Ask for forgiveness later. Its the new America for god's sake! Get used to it.

Bob Frum is entirely too intelligent and clear thinking and candid in his remarks. Of course, Fox would not want him. I think he offers valuable contributions to MSNBC TV.
