New York Media Demands Meeting With NYPD Commissioner About Treatment Of Press At Occupy Wall Street

In a letter co-signed by executives from a variety of media outlets and press advocacy groups, New York Times Company vice president and assistant general counsel, George Freeman, has requested an immediate meeting with Police Commissioner Ray Kelly and Paul Brown, the Deputy Commissioner of Public Information, over a series of incidents between Nov. 15 and 17 which, Freeman writes, "clearly violate[d] NYPD policies and procedures as concerns the media."
