Rebecca Black Kohl's Commercial: 'Black Friday, Black Friday...' (VIDEO)

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 11/21/11 12:26 PM ET Updated: 11/21/11 12:45 PM ET

Thought you had heard the last of Rebecca Black? Not so fast.

Not only did the viral Youtube sensation just release a new single last week (yup, she's still at it), but Kohl's has taken Black's infamous "Friday" song and turned it into its latest Black Friday commercial.

So, let's play Good Idea, Bad Idea. Good idea: the song is instantly recognizable and had tons of media buzz, so Kohl's is automatically earning itself some Black Friday attention.

Also, the combo phrase "Rebecca Black Friday" is irresistible.

Bad idea: Black has already come under such media scrutiny stemming from her song that she was bullied out of school. So it might not be so nice of Kohl's to bring Black's song back into the spotlight for further critique, as commenters have already left all sorts of nasty notes under the ad on YouTube including:

commercial: ok. song: f***ing horrible!!!!!

OK, give the video a watch below... and let us know what you think in the comments. Nicely.

I know this seems to many people (especially those of you that don't work in retail) that this is just funny exaggeration of customer behavior but actually everything this woman does in the commercial I've had go down at my place of employment on previous black fridays. Just last year alone we had women stealing out of other women's arms, out of others dressing rooms, trashing dressing rooms (smashing food and beverage all over, leaving dirty diapers), breaking the merchandise, soiling the merchandise, cutting in line, getting into altercations with other customers, verbally and physically assaulting sales associates and so on. Next time you see a mall security guard ask him or her about "black friday stories". They will have so many and you won't believe half of them but they're so awful they can't even be made up.

I am appalled that Kohl's , however tongue-in-cheek the add may be, appears to be endorsing this type of behavior and/or appealing to this type of shopper. I will not shop at Kohl's if this is the way "corporate" approaches marketing....

I have come to question Kohl's advertising strategy. Remember the "Rabid Honey Badger" (http://danoday.com/blog/2011/06/kohls-radio-commercial/) radio commercial from this past summer? The song used in this commercial is definitely catchy, but catchy in the way that becomes annoying all too quickly. They did accomplish the remake in a way that makes sense, but it seems a little too silly to be taken seriously. Thanks for mentioning the irony of "Rebecca Black Friday." It's just too good.

I don't care about the song. I won't shop at Kohl's because this ad features the woman stealing an item from another women's cart. People already behave horribly on black friday. This ad just reinforces and encourages bad behavior. Kohl's has lost me as a customer.

I feel the exact same way. That cart-stealing thing, along with the lady's idiotic treatment of other customers...she beat out an elderly lady in a scooter to the register? Ugh! Classless. I won't be shopping at Kohl's anymore either.

Just added another store to my boycott list. The holidays are about family - not some Capitalists exploiting freedom to line their pockets. Any store that has such an unfriendly policy towards family doesn't deserve 1-cent of my Christmas budget: Kohl's, Target, Best Buy.

They will be receiving a nice protest letter from me though.

Oh c'mon!
The song was always a joke.
See if I ever shop at Kohls again.
