A Very Special Thanksgiving Round-Up: 10 Family-Filled TV Episodes

One of the definitions of Thanksgiving on Urban Dictionary is "A four day 'shock and awe' ritual ... designed to torture Americans into some form of familial cohesion.

Hopefully your Thanksgiving veers more toward fun than torture (although you may feel that it's a fine line). But regardless, we all know that families are nothing if not entertaining. Whether you're celebrating with your parents, aunts, uncles and cousins, or just you and your kids, Turkey Day always seems to inspire a whole lot of emotions. (Maybe the tryptophan-laced turkey does more than make us drowsy?)

If there's any medium that has the power to capture the full spectrum of Thanksgiving celebrations and emotions -- and pretend that it's possible to wrap up even the most complex familial conflicts in 22-45 minutes -- it's television. Some of the funniest and most poignant TV episodes have involved turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes and a side dish of family drama. To get you excited for the family-filled, holiday cheer to come (and maybe make you feel thankful that your family isn't on a sitcom) we've rounded up clips from some of our favorite Thanksgiving-themed episodes.
