Etsy Artist Turns 'Pepper Spray Cop' Image Into Peace-Advocating T-Shirt (PHOTO)

Posted: Updated:

After the pepper spray attack on protestors at UC Davis this weekend that was seen around the world, one enterprising artist on Reddit decided to turn the now-famous image of a cop casually blasting pepper spray in people's eyes into fashion -- with a solid message.

The "Pepper Spray Cop" meme hit the Internet this week after police officer John Pike was captured on video spraying pepper spray into the faces of peaceful protesters at UC Davis on Friday. Wily Photoshoppers inserted Pike's image into famous paintings, cartoon stills and pictures of baby animals. But now, someone is using the meme to make a statement for peace instead of just laughs.

Photozz on Reddit designed this shirt, which depicts Pike with a can that's bursting with butterflies instead of mace, and is selling the shirts on Etsy for $10. They seem to be already selling out, so get yours today!

Check out the design below. We approve!
