WASHINGTON -- Does the thought of lugging a 20-pound turkey home from the supermarket fill you with dread? If you can't stomach the idea of another Thanksgiving spent laboring in the kitchen, several local restaurants are offering a stress-free option.

As of Tuesday morning, several restaurants still had seats open for their respective Thanksgiving dinners, which range from fanciful modern Italian prix fixe affairs to non-traditional Indian feasts.

This downtown restaurant at the W Washington D.C. hotel is serving up a four-course prix fixe menu for $68. Dishes include butternut squash soup; seared halibut with a scallion-chili sauce, basil and celery; roasted turkey with mushroom-chestnut stuffing, brussel sprouts and cranberry sauce; and a green apple crisp with cinnamon ice cream. A la carte items will also be available.
