Amherst Patch:

When asked about Occupy Wall Street, he said it was unfair to dismiss the concerns that are being expressed by the protesters.

He added that, much like the Tea Party, there are always individuals who make the movement look bad.

I'm pleased to find this thread, because if one looks at the 2012 political blog here you wouldn't even know he's running.

Anyone notice in that picture how Gardasil Rick is trying to puff himself up over Paul.

So pathetic.

These seditious treasonous politicians are going to get their comeuppance

Yes, Ron Paul is the godfather of the tea party, but when Palin got involved in it and started corrupting some her way, there was a split.

Ron Paul is one of the nicest people, to not criticize people

At some point the liberals on the left need to put issues side by side and see how the candidates stack up regardless of party. I'm a Republican and fiscal conservative and I happen to agree with Ron Paul that all the wars we're in is a big waste of money. You're talking about trillions of dollars here. We could have become energy independent many times over or balance our budget in a short time with those money. Further more, oil price is at all time high so all the blood and treasure have not generated a positive return for us. Ron Paul is also against bailing out banks (or any company for that matter) and letting those executives pay themselves big bonuses with taxpayers' dollars. These are big items. You won't get everything you like out of Paul and neither will I but you need to ask yourself what have you been getting from Obama. When you vote for Obama or any mainstream candidate from the left, you are basically voting for the title and not the substance. Case in point, Gitmo is still open last time I checked and the too-big-to-fail banks are bigger than ever, and yes, the wars are still on and the military-industrial complex are still making s..t load of taxpayers' money.

Breaking news:

Ron Paul will endorse any organization that criticizes America.

Clearly you haven't been watching the debates. I've never seen a politician take a more principled stand on the core values of what supposedly this country stands for in my life. I'm an independent pretty liberal but I would probably vote for Ron Paul over Obama (who I already voted for). THis guy is a real patriot.

Ron Paul is the last candidate to pander. If you look up the word "consistent" in the dictionary, there's a picture of Ron Paul.

Federal Reserve is as Federal as Federal Express
10:03 AM on 11/23/2011
Despite being a bleeding heart liberal and despising Ron Paul's small government mantra I can say that I see eye to eye with him regarding the Federal Reserve, and I HAVE to respect his courage in saying that no single thing is as big a contributor to our national debt as the Federal Reserve. No other politician since Andrew Jackson has had the fortitude to publicly challenge the Fed, like Ron Paul, and his stance against the Fed is the sole reason so many young Occupy Wall Street protesters support Paul. The Federal Reserve system, money out of debt can only result in war, it is a system that depends upon war as an economic booster, and distributor of inequality overseas, war is the perfect guise for the Fed to conceal its nefarious activities. The only problem is that we haven't fought a war in which we felt totally in the right since World War II, my generation is already war weary and we're only in our early 20's. The central bank paradigm is set up as a system of debt and slavery, 1913 this country died when it adopted a central bank, and consigned generations of Americans to a life of servitude to Federal Reserve debt.

I use to be a bleeding heart liberal like yourself until I looked in Austrian economics. It is the only sustainable and humane way for a society to go. Any other way involves an all powerful government, taking property from individuals and redistributing it and growing to the point that it becomes oppressive to its own people.

Why is Ron Paul not given more air time? He is clearly the most sane candidate and the most consistent candidate. As a liberal, I disagree with a few of Ron Paul's stances and policies, but damn it if he isn't a model of consistency in a political climate devoid of any ethics and morals.

He is not part of the Teapublican "establishment". Neither is Huntsman. They have no prayer...
02:12 PM on 11/23/2011
Consistency and principle. This guy says things that he knows are not the popular view and he sticks too them. I happen to think he's right on most things. And I'd take a small government if it means everything else he stands for...

The basis behind finding out what all candidates represent....is track record. That, however, is not how most voters decide. The beauty pageants that have been passed off as political debates for the last 30 plus years have steered the common eye away from the issues. These are things to consider when voting: 1....WHO is this person? How did they get where they are now?Where did they start out? 2...WHAT have their policies been(if any) while in office(if any)? What is the track record for flip flopping and pandering? What special interests are they affiliated with(if any)? 3....WHERE did they get their training/education that would qualify them for POTUSA? Where do they get their campaign finance from? Where did they grow up...and what kind of family are they from( yes...it does matter)? 4... WHY would you consider voting for them? Why is this candidate appealing(hopefully not looks)? 5... WHEN was the last time you researched ANY of these things about your candidates? There you have it....the WHO WHAT WHERE WHY AND WHEN of candidate selection. Feel free to expand or detract as you may.

Excellent!! Too many people vote on name recognition. That's how we end up with political dynasties like the Clintons, Bushes, Romneys, Kennedys, etc.

Well said, and I agree. More people really need to research and not just listen to the Media or their "party". It's better to know the facts than make an uneducated decision based on false info.

Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate supporting OWS. At the core of OWS dissent is the realization that a criminal Oligarchy is looting the nation at the expense of EVERYONE. Ron Paul has been going at the root of the banksters for years, The Federal Reserve.

End The Fed and pull the rug out from under the criminals.

Climb on board Ron Paul 2012 OWS!!!

Why doesn't HuffPost have their OWN story on this? Ron Paul is the ONLY Rep candidate I like or agree with on ANYTHING. But I am not sure him in Office would produce much change. It isn't the President we need to worry about....it is the 500 plus in CONgress that we need to get out of office. They can't even do their own jobs....which is to ENACT THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE in their BEST interests...they had to HAND SELECT 12 ididots who REFUSE to do anything.Thi doesn't end well for America until those criminals are ousted.OWS ABSOLUTELY...but Occupy CONGRESS is what we really need to do!!! OCCUPY UNITY!!

People keep saying a Ron Paul presidency wouldn't get anything done. I disagree. A president is in charge of two major things: He can change foreign policy and he can change monetary policy. Those two things alone would be enough to vastly change the direction of the country and congress would have zero say so about.

I would LOVE to see Bernie Sanders run for President...he,like Paul, remain consitent in their politics....old school....no flip flopping or pandering to special interests. But this is the lot we get to choose from....slim pickings.
