Spain Elections 2011: Gay Kiss Upstages Al-Jazeera Reporter (VIDEO)

The victory of Spain's Mariano Rajoy and his conservative People's Party is already generating concerns from Spanish lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights advocates, who fear the prime minister-elect could repeal the nation's marriage equality legislation.

One couple certainly got their message across in an unusual way by "videobombing" an Al Jazeera reporter, kissing passionately as the hapless correspondent spoke on the election.

The importace of this kiss is not only that it was broadcasted to muslims countries (that is important) but also because it was done in front of the spanish conservative party premises, as thousands of them were celebrating the victory. This couple of gays really took a serious risk to be hurt in that moment. Receive my complete admiration

They did not risk being hurt at all. I don't know about muslim countries, but this kiss in Madrid is not only legal but perfectly normal in any setting. Many PP (conservative party) members are gay, Madrid PP helps organising Europride in Madrid, and in fact the kissers are PP supporters and were just celebrating PP victory.

In Madrid a kiss between homosexuals is normal in neigborghoods like Chueca, Malasaña, Lavapies but no more. In other parts of the city it is still not well seen. You are a complete idiot. This was not about a Kiss that needed to be seen in the Muslim world. It was more about making a point to the Spanish Gov. You think the Muslim world is virgin ? They have gays and lesbians and they watch enough Western TV to see two men or women kissing.

The real great thing here is that broadcast shows in countries where there's death penalty for being gay.
Even greater is that this broadcast was shown in this countries, something like this would have been edited and cut before being shown in the US national TV.
