Al Sharpton's New MSNBC Commercial Features Pie (VIDEO)

First Posted: 11/23/11 09:43 AM ET Updated: 11/23/11 11:19 AM ET

Al Sharpton has released quite the ad for MSNBC's "Lean Forward" campaign.

The commercial spots have a distinct style. They feature network hosts like Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, and Lawrence O'Donnell pontificating about politics while seemingly in the mid-conversation with Lee.

Maddow discusses American innovation standing in front of the Hoover Dam. Chris Matthews laments what he considers to be Republicans unfairly bashing President Obama while seated in front of the White House.

Sharpton, however, discusses blueberry pie on a Brooklyn stoop. He's going for a metaphor about Republicans and pie, but it's still pretty wacky. Still, any commercial that features Al Sharpton shouting "they were the ones eating the pie!" can't be wrong.

You can pay all the taxes you want, no one is stopping you. But I'll keep my money.

Geez…I haven’t watch MSNBC seen they got rid of Cenk and I have no intention of ever watching this Obama love-festpalloza channel. Old media is an endangered species, good riddance.

I cant stand Al Sharpton's show! I dont understand him being cast for MSNBC. Further, I dont understand why people like to watch! How he leapfrogged in to the front of the line of other, way more qualified journalists is beyond me. I hope his show doesnt last the year. Yeah Im a hater, and I said it.
Oh here's an idea MSNBC, what about Tamryn Hall? Hmmmm?
12:30 AM on 11/28/2011
I love Tamron Hall but I dont think she has the political background or the personality to carry a HardBall/Rachel_Maddow type show all on her own.

I'd love to see her as the new permanent co-host on a Morning Joe replacement show. Same format, different people. And IMO, she should have been chosen as one of the new permanent persons on one of the weekday Today shows. Or CBS should've nabbed her and Willie Geist for their new Morning show lineup, if it was possible. I'm not sure how long Gayle King will last. Wrong format for her.

al sharpton is great....he is not afraid to nail the right for their h8ful deeds. tamron has said in an interview that she does not like to be political. she really likes reporting news...what's going on in the world. she would not enjoy doing a political show. tamron is so smart and so attractive....i love her news show.

The more I watch Rev. Al the more I like him. His humor is down home and he is likable even to people that disagree with him (Newt). I like the bueberry pie analogy even if the reporter thought it was "wacky"
