First Posted: 11/24/11 10:44 AM ET   Updated: 11/24/11 10:44 AM ET

According to CNN Money, more than 152 million people will be shopping over Black Friday weekend, which, thanks to extended hours, now starts on Thursday at many stores.

With that kind of competition, you're going to need some help. Thankfully, more and more retailers are taking to social networks like Twitter and Facebook to give their followers and fans a jump start on where the deals will be on November 25 (or in some cases November 24).

Don't just go to the mall and wander around aimlessly. Get a black belt in Black Friday by using apps to compare discounts at different stores, Twitter and Facebook to find the newest sales and daily deals sites to find unique or hard to find gift deals.

Check out our slideshow below for 7 social media tools that will help you orchestrate a successful shopping coup.

Location-based social networking site Foursquare is offering Black Friday deals at JCPenney, Sports Authority, Brookstone, Aeropostale, Payless Shoesource and Toys "R" Us. Once customers arrive at the store they can check in via Foursquare's mobile app to get discounts on purchases. JCPenney will donate $25 to The Salvation Army for each person who checks into a JCPenney store between 4 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Friday, November 25.
