Chicagoans Give Thanks: Politicians, Foodies, Bloggers And Artists Weigh In On The Holiday (PHOTOS)

With Thanksgiving now upon us, HuffPost Chicago wanted to take the opportunity to reach out to some of our favorite Chicagoans and find out some of the things they are giving thanks for this holiday.

While we urged the bevy of participants -- including politicians, activists, artists, foodies and bloggers alike -- to take the "assignment" in whatever direction they desired, we encouraged them to let us know what aspects of their lives here in Chicago they are grateful for, not leaving it at the friends and loved ones likely on most peoples' minds this time of year. Whether it be their favorite watering hole, local chef or area non-profit, their answers run the gamut in representing a microcosm of life in our Windy City. We also reached out to the local HuffPost blogger crew and featured some of our own staff's thoughts on the matter.

Without further ado, we present our inaugural "Chicagoans give thanks" feature. Be sure to let us know in the comments what about living life in the Chicago area you're grateful for this year. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
