Turkey Crashes Through Pennsylvania Eatery's Glass Window

11/24/11 08:48 PM ET  AP

PENN HILLS, Pa. -- A wild turkey smashed through a plate glass window at an empty western Pennsylvania restaurant and ended up where millions of its fellow gobblers did on Thanksgiving: a dining room.

Penn Hills police Officer Bernard Sestili tells the WTAE-TV the feathered fowl didn't survive impact when it barreled into the dining room of the Eat'n Park in Penn Hills on Thursday afternoon. The restaurant was closed at the time.

Sestili says he responded when the building's alarm went off.

He suspects the turkey may have been roosting in a nearby tree when it "got up this morning and went for his morning flight and flew into the window."

Penn Hills is about 10 miles outside Pittsburgh.

No one told the turkey the war was over! It was still scrambling trying to get away. He went from roosting to rosting!

Okay fine ... I will say it! It is Bush's fault! No? Okay, it is Obama's fault! No, hmmm .... You know, it could be that the turkey was just stupid and no one was to blame on this one. We will go with that for now.

Nearly as bright as the turkey: people who don't understand that Huffington Post is essentially a political site, and visited by people who reflect this simple fact.

Way to miss the point eggnog! My point is that a story like this, even on this site, can be free of political leanings of any kind.

Nice try though ... I guess.

The turkey obviously got the idea to save its kind from being eaten from the game "Angry Birds"

It would have been funnier if the restaurant had been full of people eating Thanksgiving dinner.

A turkey committing suicide, in a dining room, on Thanksgiving. You can't make this stuff up!
