Australia Gay Marriage Advocacy Group Unveils Sweet, Sexy New Ad (VIDEO)

First Posted: 11/25/11 02:31 PM ET Updated: 11/25/11 02:57 PM ET

An Australian same-sex marriage advocacy group's sexy, dramatic new campaign has the blogosphere abuzz.

The independent advocacy organization GetUp! Action for Australia produced the new ad, simply titled "A Love Story," which depicts two handsome men enjoying romantic dates and dealing with family crises before a proposal and the subsequent nuptials.

"It's time," the ad proclaims at the conclusion. "End marriage discrimination."

Though a slim majority of Australians support marriage equality, few reportedly rate it highly as a national issue.

Check out "A Love Story" below:

Those of us living in countries where marriage equality is a reality should never forget where we were upwards to 10 years ago. Seeing ads such as this from a fellow Commonwealth country should remind us that although we have our rights here, we should, as members of the human race, assist where we can, in helping our brother's and sister's obtain what we already have and in some cases already take for granted. Even little things such as posting this article and ad to our facebook pages will help, to the bigger things such as giving a donation to such organisations, which will definitely assist. I commend GetUP! for a great ad that is sure to cause a discussion and hopefully progress the fight for full marriage equality.

As an American living some 20 years in western Europe, I forget and take for granted how deeply fortunate we are. Same-sex marriage is not even an issue here.

All the nay-sayers that were so big, bold and boisterous so many years ago are gone (perhaps into hiding). They warned us that this would be the demise of our society, our children would suffer, it would be the end of families, our morals would disintegrate before our very eyes, people would now want to marry animals, blah-blah-blah.

After 10 years of same-sex marriage, none of it has come to pass... nothing. If you ask me honestly... it's all kind of boring now. The homos are more interested in shopping for the right schools, the right neighbourhoods, planning dinner parties and family vacations. It's boring.

Seriously, I can't believe that there are still whole societies/nations/humans still gullible to buy into all the lies and false rhetoric concerning this issue. When same-sex marriage does happen (and it will)... boy, are you in for a BIG surprise.

This ad is incredibly sweet / romantic, it is not sexy as part of the headline tells. The main man is good looking to some, However that is not the point.

Fabulous ad! It's all about the love and commitment and not the outer "packaging" that matters. Nicely done.

"Though a slim majority of Australians support marriage equality..."

A 2010 poll by a reputable Australian independent survey house, Galaxy, found:

53% support among Christians (with 41% opposed)
62% support among members of other religions (with 30% opposed), and
67% support among people with no religion (with 24% opposed).

Overall, support was sitting at 60%...

Perhaps the article could be ammended to read "A slim majority of Australian Christians support marriage equality..." The rest of us are already fairly convincingly on board.

My comments went away....

Because they were mostly "Why hasn't everyone else flagged this bigoted rant?" in reply
to petty haters

THE VIDEO IS BEAUTIFUL, AND SHOULD BE SEEN BY ALL AMERICANS

Wow I want that so much. To marry without others trying to meddle in my life. What an idea. To marry guided by love not by dogma and prejudice. Amazing concept.
