Florence And The Machine Drake Cover Bbc

Florence & The Machine covering Drake -- no, it's not a Black Friday joke, and yes, it's surprisingly awesome.

At BBC Radio One's Florence & The Machine Live Lounge, the band broke out with a cover of Drake and Rihanna's "Take Care." Florence sounds natural on the soulful, mournful track, with an added layer of epic provided by the band. In fact, "Take Care" almost sounds more like a Florence and The Machine track then a Drake one.

"This is pretty exciting because this is a song by one of my, well two of my, well three of my absolute favorite artists," Florence says before starting the song, referencing Drake, Rihanna and Jamie xx.

Great cover. But it's definitely pretty wack that their was no mention of Gil Scott in this article. The artist to whom this song originally belongs to; and the artist I thought Florence was referencing in the beginning.

Florence is one of those singers who actually sounds better when performing live. What an incredible voice.

I'm not really a fan of the Drake version of this song, but this version is dope!

FYI, Drake's Take Care heavily samples Jamie XX and the late Gil-Scott Heron's I'll Take Care of You. Florence's great cover sounds more like the original than Drake's. Oftentimes the right credit isn't given in mainstream hip hop as they VERY often sample other artists' tracks or uses them to lay over R&B or rap vocals with.

How did Rihanna record with Nick Drake? He was dead for 14 years when she was born.

Florence is an amazing artist. She not only creates great songs but also changes some of the other (mostly banal) pop-songs in little works of art, full of magic and emotion. I'm always impressed by her interpretations.
