Miley Cyrus Smokes Weed And Other Controversial Career Moves

It seems that Miley Cyrus has, once again, entangled herself in a bit of controversy. The actress/singer was caught on video laughing about what a pothead she is, her second smoke-related offense in the last year (though last December, she insisted that she was inhaling the perfectly legal hallucinogen, salvia).

Cue the outrage! The anger! The shock! Coming soon will be all the parental dismay over the transgressions of a childhood icon, and while it's true that Miley remains a favorite of young girls, you have to admit that this latest event shouldn't be a surprise. Having turned 19 last week, Cyrus has been seemingly on a campaign the past few years to distance herself from her Disney Channel image, including making a number of career decisions that generated plenty of their own controversy.

The first step came in 2008, when a 15-year old Cyrus participated in a now-infamous photo shoot with Annie Liebovitz for Vanity Fair. She seemingly went topless (she had on a bedsheet) for that one, but when the public reacted less than favorably, she did an about face, apologized and said she was "embarrassed" by the photos.

Then, in 2009, controversy erupted after her performance of "Party in the USA," in which she wore very, very little and did a pole dance. The dirty dancing continued in 2010 at a wrap party for "The Last Song," which saw her rub up against much-older director Adam Shankman.

Cyrus then went sexy bird for her "Can't Be Tamed" video, though that was mostly a manufactured controversy as a reaction to her other work. Then, her video for "Who Owns My Heart" got the Parents Television Council all riled up, with its scantily clad bed moments and skin-revealing dancing.

Now, just like the salvia incident, Miley's inner-circle is coming to her rescue. Kelly Osbourne tweeted, "let me make something very clear after @MileyCyrus salvia incident we started calling her bob miley as a JOKE! the cake was also A JOKE! it makes me sick that @MileyCyrus so called 'friends' would sell her out and lead people 2 believe she is someone that she is not!"

Whether or not Miley actually is a stoner, well, we don't know. But either way, it's just another notch on her bad girl belt.

Alcohol kills more people than smoking pot. That is a fact, and the saying smoking pot leads to harder drugs, RIGHT oh that's because we like to keep them in order. Who cares? Banning drugs only make them apart of the problem. If they were legal then no one would spend two cents thinking about what someone does. There will be people with addictions no matter what the vice is but if YOU do not like drugs then don't do them. I think its a persons choice what they do and having the government dictate what we can or can not do in a supposedly "FREE" country is a bit hypocritical.

She has never been a role model, just always hypped up and presented. Role model for who? Our children? Gross. Barbie was never a role model and she sold millions. Miley is an actress a far cry from a role model. Role models are in the communtiy and at home not on TV shows. Actors and Actresses might make money and have fans but they are far from "role models". We watch their movies and hear their songs but would NEVER want to be like them.

Amazing to be part of such a huge, diverse, inspiring group. When the anti-marijuana crowd hear the famous use marijuana they blame it on their "decadent" lifestyle, when drug cartel or gang members get busted it confirms their steryotype of pot users, what they fail to acknowledge are the millions of marijuan users that fall in between,Teachers, nurses, lawyers, accountants............. and of course us Seniors. Millions of people who live happy, productive, otherwise law abiding lives.

Would anyone be "shocked" if they saw her drinking a beer? Probably not, so why is cannabis so much worse. Given a choice, (as if I really have a say) that my daughter smoke weed or drink alcohol, I would go with weed every time. People don't die from smoking pot, many do from alcohol. You all need to educate yourselves and re-evaluate your outdated prejudices. More than likely she will out grow this faze of her life. The most dangerous thing about weed is that you can go to jail for smoking it.

Hyper sense: Geez Miley, you do understand that everybody has their small amount of life to add to the human race. On the other hand others just keep adding, I guess because their so grand, take from others of the land. Soon we're left with nothing but, me me me in hand, a twit of a race someone else commands. Leave your eyes open, see where the paranoia began, help others to understand. Many things start from the sorrow and sorrid of man, whip it down and maybe they can begin. Others struggle sometimes too no end, told what was love that only ends. Like many and OWS, there's got to begin. Sometimes you got to laugh, but is it your friend. Not a slide for others my friend. Slowly the mind sets of what began, now a region of confuse when their let go again. And some may never want to mend. It's cruelty, but not as hard once they begin. A walk away from all said that was told a friend.
