"The broader argument, meanwhile, is that Democrats like Barney Frank actually helped create the crisis by pushing the government to expand its affordable-housing programs...But it’s not true. Barry Ritholz has dubbed this argument “The Big Lie.” And disproving it simply requires a few graphs."

According to several University studies Republicans lack the intelligence to comprehend something as complex as government function. All they have ever done is wrought death, poverty and destruction to our country. These are people of ill will who rap themselves in the flag of patriotism and Christianity while they deceive their tunnel vision base into submission.

Barney's step down is the best thing he has done for US.

The man is a corrupt effete snob that should be on trial for treason against the American people for his role in Fanny& Freddy and the housing crisis he played a big role in creating.

I'm sure you have a link to his role in Fanny & Freddy and the housing crisis he played a big role in creating.

typical TeaNagger-------the republican controlled senate never brought that or any freddie/fannie bill to a vote-
so you're whining about something that never happened.

Yes, thank you so very much, Imaginary Friend In The Sky, for as much of Barney as you allowed us to share. It would have been nicer if we'd gotten to share him longer, but we are far, far better off for having had him to represent us as long as we did.

The Barney slime will be corrected soon. Just watch.

Yeah, thanks for for the recession!

you're referrring to a supposed deregulation of freddie and fannie....the truth is that the republican controlled senate never brought anything about to a vote, so you're once again deluded about something that never happened.

Taking a look at the tweets included in this story is a very clear example of why our country is failing, the GOP's constant sniping and complete lack of respect for anyone. For conservatives everything is tied to their lopsided political agenda, they can't even drop it for a second to thank someone who has served the country for 30 years.
The conservative constituents are no better. Look at what occurred at the NASCAR event with the First Lady. Michelle and Jill were there to honor the troops, something that should know no political bias, yet the classless conservatives in the crowd took the ignorant path that not only dishonored the office of the President and our troops but the entire nation.

If we as a country continue down this path we will see the end of the United States of America within our lifetime.

"WAH! WAH! WAH! I don't like when non-Liberals are allowed to exercise Free Speech! WAH!"

If you could be bothered to drop your own, "blame everything on everyone but the Left" agenda and, y'know, actually bother to educate yourself, you'd know that the current state of the country has infinitely more to do with your precious Golden Calf than it does the fact that Conservatives aren't forced by law to agree with you. Get over yourself.

Absolutely! Thank you, Barney, for giving America (including Americans who hate you just because you're a little different from themselves) so much for so long. We will not see your like again any time soon. Bienvenidos. Fare thee well.

Dear Ann [Coulter]: Barney Frank, one of the architects of the Consumer Protection and Wall St. Reform Act is not to blame for unemployment, the housing crisis, national debt. BTW, the recession is technically over. Where did that woman go to college again?

I don't live in MA but I'll still be begging him to change his mind and stay. The nation needs him right now. A little discomfort for 2 years while getting to know new neighbors should not be a deal breaker. Very sad to see this happening.
