Gulf Oil Spill: BP Faces More Citations

Gulf Oil Spill Bp

By MATTHEW DALY   11/28/11 02:15 PM ET   AP

WASHINGTON -- The Obama administration says BP and two other companies are likely to face new citations for alleged safety and environmental violations stemming from last year's Gulf oil spill.

Michael Bromwich, head of the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, says the upcoming notices stem from reviews that go beyond a federal government probe of the April 2010 Deepwater Horizon blast, which killed 11 workers and resulted in the nation's worst offshore oil spill.

Federal regulators in October cited BP PLC for seven violations, and contractors Transocean Ltd. and Halliburton for four violations apiece, stemming from the Gulf spill.

Bromwich said Monday that new notices of violation could be sent within two weeks. Bromwich steps down Thursday after 17 months as head of the offshore drilling agency.

BP doesn't really care about citations, they just pay off the fines and continue as if nothing happen. Now, if the government starts putting BP people in jail, then BP will care about the citations.

Oil Spill Eater II has been the solution since day one why they ever used that toxic corexit that's banned in Europe on U.S.A waters is beyond me. They need to answer that question why would they use something that is banned in other countries instead of a non toxic proven solution!

Exxon and BP; they should both be banned from every operating in the USA again. CEO's should be in jail. Canada and the UK can not be trusted to do anything but try to make a buck. They would all sell their mother for a dollar or a pound.

The environmental disaster of the Gulf will continue for many years.

The fishing and shrimping has been destroyed. Shrimp are being born without eyes.

Would you want your family eating fish and shrimp that was deformed?

I still need to dig deeper into the facts as I will do in the upcoming months once the citations are fully realized. Transocean's contractual roll in the findings, BP and Halliburton have larger bankrolls for lawyers to help rid them of any further financial woes. Will be interesting to see what happens here.

How do you like this circus. All the partners in crime are trying to sue each other for negligence. Halliburton, Transocean Ltd. and BP------"The Three Stooges". Poke one in the eyes, slap the others face and hit BP over the head.

Wow, I am shocked! Halliburton hid disaster details that could impact their bottom line. Who would have thought it.
I guess that means more of Liz Cheney out and about to defend her father. You have to admire a person with some brains that is loyal to her old man. Of course it seems from a lot of her conversation she lets loyalty triumph over reality. Maybe this will keep the old man hidden away some as well.
They need to be fined and they need to make a public apology of their wrong doing, or make them held responsible for the deaths of the workers and the gulf coasts suffering under the impact of shoddy work all for maximizing a profit.

But as in many other instances, it will probably get blown under the carpet as too many of the 1% could lose too much money. Sad what Corporate America has been uncovered to be, for the people who made them what they are left to wallow in economic hardship........bc
