Daniel Radcliffe Trying Screenwriting: Writing A Film 'No One Wants To See'

First Posted: 11/29/11 01:31 PM ET Updated: 11/29/11 02:23 PM ET

Just because he hung up his robe, doesn't mean that Daniel Radcliffe hasn't been keeping busy in his post-'Potter' days.

He is the lead in victorian horror film "The Woman in Black," finishing up his successful stint on Broadway and now he's trying his hand at screenwriting.

"I am trying to write a script which is fun and frustrating and terrible at the moment but hopefully will be good at some point," Radcliffe told MTV News.

The "Harry Potter" star was mum on the details, saying that the film would be of the "arthouse" genre. But he did share a curious tidbit about the screenplay-to-be.

"It will be a film that no one wants to see," he said.

Daniel's modesty aside, would you want to see a movie penned by The Chosen One?

It is amazing how young people can succeed so fast. In every stage and level of life some people is ready to be succesful some are not in an specific timing. Though as humans I beleive we can handle emotions and succes reaches everyones life.

He seems like a self-deprecating, nice guy who is trying to expand his base. Good for him.

I think it might be a little early to judge if it will be good or bad, since it is still in the beginning stages, and I know how harsh I am as a critic of my own work. So I shall wait and see,

""It will be a film that no one wants to see," he said."

Sounds like typical Hollywood fair.

Like him in Potter, dreadful on stage, just dreadful, walked out with teen Potter fans at intermission. No comic timing,n o presence, no charisma, he just didn't have "it". Larroquette and a cast no one were devouring the stage, whilst the lead fell flat.

Movies are his forte'.

You are out of your mind. I don't know what show YOU went to, or if you really went at all, because a friend of mine works on the crew and Daniel gets standing O's every night. He's gotten good reviews and the show is very successful. Why lie?

Your unnecessarily insulting retort aside, I did attend the show in July, the first half,he did receive several standing ovations--all for Harry Potter and is celebrity related to that role, not for his comedic timing, singing dancing, or acting skills.

The Mad Men sets and costumes were wonderfully evocative of the Doris Day/Rock Hudson movie era, Larroquette a ham as always.

However, I repeat and completely agree with every word the NYT's reviewer, who nailed the performance, he was awful. You and your third hand opinions are ridiculous.

No loss for me, as I took the children to of the top of The Empire State after leaving during intermission, However, not before giving our tickets to three shrieking teens waiting by the stage door, they screamed with delight as they ran in to see the 2nd act.

The children learned that giving others unanticipated happiness was better then seeing Harry Potter in person. It was the best part of the night.

Daniel is clever, a great actor and probably will be able to write a play or screenplay in time. I certainly would see it if he were in it since I think he is one of the best actors of this time. I can't imagine them making Harry Potter without Daniel as Harry.

The best part of being independently wealthy, you can make films that know wants to see. Bravo!
