Ricky Martin In 'Glee': Singer In Talks To Play Spanish Teacher

Move over, Mr. Schuester -- there's another hottie teacher coming to McKinley High.

According to TVLine, star singer Ricky Martin is in talks to join "Glee" in a guest role as a Spanish teacher. The episode, the site reports, will feature musical numbers and air in late January.

Martin, of course, is well known for his massive pop hits, but he has done a bit of acting in his past. Believe it or not, he appeared in an episode of "The Love Boat" in 1985, and in addition to starring in a number of Spanish-language shows, he also appeared on soap opera "General Hospital" in 1994-95.

"Glee" has had plenty of guest stars throughout its run, though it's toned down on the practice this season. Past guest stars have included John Stamos, Gwyneth Paltrow and Neil Patrick Harris.

Isn't Mr. Schuester the Spanish teacher already? Are they that desperate for a new teacher? They forgot he teaches Spanish? Not saying Ricky Martin wouldn't be great!

they lost the mojo last season with kurt drama show and now they are making the same mistake with santana the poor victim storyline, the others characters don't have a good plot arc and all the show goes around one character.
and like last season with gwynneth paltrow substitute teacher they bring rick martin for substitute teacher, but the main characters (the ones that aren't gay) still don't get a concistent story.
i love glee but the show is a mess now

Oh, come on! This show has too many characters as it is, and the original ones never get air time! What happened to the Will and Emma plotline? The Kurt's Dad/Sue Sylvester election story? The Asian F fallout? What will Finn do after high school? They've yet to wrap up any of these arcs and they're adding more? Why?

Matthew Morrison has to be the most talented, underutilized main character on television. It's bizarre.

i was a huge fan of glee, and i still watch it, but it is getting so repetitive that it's boring. nothing really happens anymore, same old plot line. i love the idea of the show and teaching tolerance, but the show has gotten boring. i hope it picks up.
and ricky martin will be fun to watch, i think.

Interesting to see what story lines they develop around him. Glee is a very good show, my wife and I never miss it. We watch it with our 10-year-old daughter. This show contains many teachable themes, but the foremost is tolerance and how to deal with the intolerant. The music ain't bad either. I especially liked the way they turned 'Girls just wanna have fun' into that ballad that Finn sang last night. I hope this show continues for many seasons to come.

So what..it is entertaining, it deals with real issues, even if not always realistically..it brings lots of things to everyone's attention..and the kids have talent.

Ricky Martin or Shakira...either one. Better yet, make Shakira Martin's sister. I just want to see Shakira & Brittany dance together. The more dance numbers Brittany gets, the better.
