I definitely think that Adele could've gotten more than 6 nominations. She is a brilliant artist. I was blown away and had tons of chills when I watched her DVD "Live At The Royal Albert Hall" (trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Oio8V3e3WU&ob=av2e ) Go Adele!!

If you like Adele pick up her new Live at Royal Albert Hall blu ray that came out this week. Her connection with the audience is incredible.
While most artists struggle to get crowds to sing choruses with them all Adele has to do is hold the mic up in the air and the audience sings perfectly in unison .
Riveting stuff.

How many cds were released last year? Something like 6,000?? It's impossible to find any consensus as far as what everyone's going to like.

The days of Thriller when the whole country had shared tastes (more or less) is over.

Grammy Awards are becoming more like a tween award show.. anyone above the age of like 15 watching this show should really consider on getting a life...sad

I hope Adele wins everything she is nominated for. It's time people are rewarded that can actually sing. Besides, she reminds me of my Amy, eventhough their styles are completely different. lol

The Grammys have sunk to a new low. Nominating "Otis" for anything other than Insulting Racist Garbage of the Year demonstrates that its Rap committee has no respect for Black America.

It further is an insult to the late great Otis Redding, whose name and music these two opportunistic twits, Kanye and Jay-Z, appropriated for their own preening and chest-beating soundtrack. Redding, whose music was an inspiration throughout the Civil Rights Movement of the 60s, is likely rolling in his grave at the thought that anyone would consider this duo's trashy work to have anything to do with Mr. Redding.

Rap truly has become pablum for the tone-deaf and the hopeless.

Adele is very talented, but I think at times, a bit boring. She's getting loads of publicity and air play, and THAT, I'm thinking, is what wins the grammys ~ whoever generates the most CHA CHING. I preferred Amy Winehouse and still do. The Grammys are a joke, and most people know it.

Are you serious?? A joke and most people know it??? I think you need to do a little research before you go talking for other people!! The Grammy's is the highest honor a recording artist can recieve and anyone who is anyone in music strives to achieve such a nomination and a win is like solidifying your worth as an artist!!!!

the grammys have become a joke in the last decade, and the quality of their winners has become laughable if not purely and only political. All awards shows have become that way, but the Grammys are the biggest victim, imo.

Her first album didn't receive much airplay, and she won for that. Shelby Lynne is another artist whose work was passed up by commercial radio but was nominated for a Grammy and won.

Winehouse was nominated for 5 and won 3. Her album, Back to Black, got little airplay on commercial radio.

Like Winehouse, Adele is the real deal. She writes, plays piano and guitar, and sings like nobody's business. If you have access to Palladia, watch her unplugged performance that has been playing lately. Her vocals are unbelievably strong, she has spectacular control, and her style is one the few can match. Her music is decidedly different from Winehouse's, and it might not be your taste, but Adele is talented.

OMG ! are you for real? Seriously? Adele has got to win this. She is awesome. She is a great singer and has her own unique flair. Rhianna's beat is always the same through and through. She dosen't change and further more Adele is classy. Adele dosen't have to take wear hardly nothing to make people listen to her music or watch her video.... Thank you...

Congratulations to my favorites: Chris Brown, Adele, Kanye, Bon Iver, Bruno Mars, Radio Head, & R.Kelly. May you all walk away with a Grammy. Or it will be the "Shammy's"!

Fleet Foxes should have received more awards.

Adele has a great voice and is funny as hell. I love Rolling in the Deep. But the rest of her CD bores me to tears and is totally depressing. I don't get why it's been so popular.

As far as the Grammys go, Elvis - the King of Rock & Roll - never got a Grammy for rock music - only for gospel. So what does that tell you about the Grammys?

Grammys are a joke. A JOKE.

These are not based on talent, musicianship, or originality. It's more like a bad popularity contest. I would refuse one if offered... nay, pawn it.

It suffers from the same "WTF" syndrome as the Rock and Roll Hall of fame, who has yet to induct Rush, but has accepted LL Cool J.

wow, LL but not Rush. That's just insane to me. I'd even say LL but not Trower.
