Taiwanese Animators Take On The American Airlines Bankruptcy (VIDEO)

First Posted: 11/30/11 11:32 AM ET Updated: 11/30/11 11:36 AM ET

Taiwanese animation studio Next Media Animation offers its take on the news that American Airlines has filed for bankruptcy protection in a hilarious new video featuring fat cat tycoons, fighter jets and a panda bear punching a gate agent. (Yes, really.)

There is some seriousness to the video, but while the NMA clip partially blames executive bonuses and salaries for the bankruptcy filing, those costs are actually a drop in the bucket compared to the labor contracts and expenses that the NMA video itself pegs at nearly $800 million.

Whatever the root cause of the Chapter 11 news, passengers will likely suffer, with fewer opportunities to cash in their frequent flyer miles, at least according to one travel expert.
