Vacation Days By Country: Who Is The Best Rested? (PHOTOS)

Once a year--if not more--various companies examine vacation days by country: Who takes the most and who could really use a day off.

Travel booking giant Expedia has released its list for 2011 of vacation days by nationality. Broken down by trip preferences (beach at 38%, followed not-so-closely by a "romantic vacation" at 19%) and the reasons people skip vacations (money for the win at 38%), the list provides an anthropological look at free time around the world.

America has been called the "No Vacation Nation" by some. A recent Hotwire survey found that workers 55 and older are taking less and less vacation days and that 30% of them have between five and ten vacation days left at the end of the year.

"Too many Americans are getting caught up in their everyday routine and are either forgetting to use their vacation or assuming travel for the remainder of the year is too expensive," said Hotwire Group President Clem Bason.
