Amusement Parks In Vermont: A Huffington Post Travel Guide

Posted: Updated:

Amusement parks in Vermont are like the state itself: small, lush and laid back. While you'll have to venture to nearby states for roller coasters, Vermont offers some of the most thrilling outdoor rides, thanks to its mountainous landscape. As part of a Huffington Post Travel series on family-fun parks, here is our guide to all the key information visitors need to know about Vermont amusement parks.

Bromley Summer Adventure

In the winter, Bromley Summer Adventure transforms into Bromley Mountain, one of Vermont's premier ski resorts. It's located on one of Vermont's scenic green mountains. Offering breathtaking views and rides for the whole family, it's a great way to spend a day during a family getaway in Vermont.

Longest In New England

The Sun Mountain Flyer is the most in-demand ride in the park, so much so that they recently added additional seats and lines to reduce waiting. What's the draw? The Sun Mountain Flyer is the longest ZipRider in New England, where passengers are strapped into a single seat, connected to an overhead line, that flies down the mountain at speeds up to 50 miles per hour.

Kid-Friendly Attractions

Bromley Summer Adventure features kid-friendly attractions such as the bumper boats, bounce house Trampoline Thing and Super Slide. For older kids and adults, check out the Space Bikes, Big Splash water slide, and the Giant Swing. Or make it a family affair on the rock wall, Alpine Slide, mini gold course or riding the scenic chairlift ride.

Food Options

The Sun Deck offers burgers, sausages, snacks and drink specials. If you come to Bromley on a Tuesday, you'll get free ice cream.
