Gowanus Winter Festival

The beleaguered Gowanus Canal has been long known for its toxic, contaminated waters. While the canal might be benefitting from a much needed $500 million clean-up soon, the Gowanus Canal Conservancy is encouraging everyone to do their part and join them for a Winter Festival celebration to help get volunteer and compost programs running. Attendees will enjoy a three-course dinner and concert.

Biblioball 2011

Bibliophiles unite for a literary celebration of everything book related with live music, trapeze, films, and DJ's at this year's Desk Set's Biblioball. Proceeds will help provide incarcerated teens with literature.

Christie's Presents Elizabeth Taylor

This Saturday, Christie's will be dedicating their Rockefeller gallery to Elizabeth Taylor for a special exhibition focusing on the late film legend's most beloved jewelry, fashion, and art. The auction house will also be donating a portion of their proceeds to The Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation.

Skytown Birthday

Celebrate the one year anniversary of one of Smorgasbord's favorite caterers, Skytown Brooklyn, at their one year anniversary party in Greenpoint.
