WASHINGTON -- We can hardly believe it's already December, which means that holiday festivities are just starting to gear up. The Washington Ballet's production of "The Nutcracker" has its first weekend performances of the year and a water-loving Santa Claus is taking up residence at the Olney Swim Center.

There's plenty of non-Christmas activities this weekend, too, although there is a lot of do-goodery: Participate in a bhangra-themed bone marrow registry drive, decorate your mustache for charity or party it up for a bike cooperative.
