Ramey Newkirk Allegedly Strikes Mother With Glass Eggnog Bottle, Florida Police Say

It's officially the holiday season in Florida.

Police in Pasco County responded to a domestic disturbance on Wednesday night to discover that a man allegedly struck his elderly mother over the head with a glass eggnog bottle.

Ramey Newkirk told authorities that his mother, 65-year-old Sandra Newkirk, developed the bruises during a recent robbery on her porch, WTSP reports.

But when police pressed Ramey, the six-foot, 270 pound man allegedly admitted to using the eggnog bottle as a weapon during a Nov. 19 incident, adding that he blacked out and did not recall why he did it, according to ABC.

The elder Newkirk also claimed that her son hit her head with a metal oxygen tank and repeatedly struck her with a stun gun.

Ramey Newkirk is charged with aggravated battery against a person 65 years of age or older, as well as tampering with a witness and grand theft.
