Kris Humphries Annulment: Could Kim Kardashian's Ex Make Money Off Divorce?
If Kim Kardashian's ex, Kris Humphries, is hoping to get his 72-day marriage to Kim annulled so he can make big bucks from selling a tell-all interview -- or worse, to get Kim to pay him to go away -- he needs to think again. Neither is going to happen.
"If Kris is hoping to get the marriage annulled so that the iron-clad prenup, which contains a confidentiality clause, also disappears so that he can get paid to tell his side of the story, then that is gross," a friend of Kim's tells me. "Kim is shocked that Kris has chosen to go down this route. No one is sure why he is doing this but obviously they fear the worst. If he thinks he is going to get a dime from Kim, he should think again."
As a New Jersey Nets player, Kris earns an estimated $3.2 milion a year. But that's nothing compared to the reported $65 million the Kardashian brand brought in last year.
"Unless he had some devasting information about Kim, then Kris's side of the story [in a magazine] would earn him around $200,000," a weekly magazine editor tells me. "Kim is one of the most reported on women in the world. Believe me, if there was a smoking gun we would have known about it by now. Plus, most of our readers are women and even though they are angry with Kim, they never like it when a man profits from a kiss-and-tell."
TMZ reports that the only plausible scenario in which Kris could make a dime off Kim is if he filed a civil claim against her for "intentional infliction of emotional distress based on fraud."
