Michele Bachmann's Makeup Woes Continue At Book Signing (PHOTOS)

Michele Bachmann's makeup woes continue.

We've written before about the GOP candidate's issues with maquillage, the main one being that she wears too much of it. Now it's easy to fall into the overly-shellacked trap when appearing on televised debates, where a makeup crew layers on enough makeup to make every candidate HD-ready.

So you'd think that for in-person, everyday appearances, a candidate like Bachmann would want to go light on the foundation.

Yesterday Bachmann attended a book signing for her tome, "Core of Conviction: My Story." For the rather low-key affair she chose a simple look: a beige cowl neck sweater, a black knee-length skirt and black flats. She also threw on a red necklace gifted to her by a fan, which honestly added a much-needed pop of color to the blah outfit.

But when we took a look at the zoomed-in pics, we ceased to be distracted by the rather unbecoming skirt-and-flats pairing (which never flattered anyone's legs) but rather the lines on Bachmann's face.

The problem, unfortunately, happens to the best of us. Too-thick makeup settles into the creases of one's face, particularly on the flat surface of the forehead, exposing one's lines and wrinkles to the world. It's the reason so many women use tinted moisturizer rather than thick foundation and why older women are encouraged to use cream eyeshadow rather than powder, which has the same line-revealing effect.

Unfortunately for Bachmann, the heavy layer of foundation and powder across her brow settled right into her forehead lines, creating an unflattering look for an otherwise pretty woman.

Our recommendations? Easy -- just lay off the heavy foundation on the forehead and skip the powder. Instead, use a tinted moisturizer instead of foundation and a mattefying toner or lotion to do the de-shining job of the powder.

Take a look at Michele's photos below -- what do you think she could do to improve her look?

Why haven't any articles been written on the Halloween mask on Nancy Pelosi's face? Hmmm...

Ridiculous. Do we focus on the wrinkles of male candidates?

Yeah, add the makeup with a trowel to the belladona she uses to get that starey, Stepford Wives look and it's night of the living dead.

Her makeup is approaching the Mary Kay, quarter-inch deep, applied with a trowel look. Next, she will be awarded a pink Cadillac for her efforts.

She needs a stylist. She actually looks older than she really is and it is all due to her makeup and fashion choices.

I think Michelle is psycho when it comes to politics, but she is very pretty. She is in her 50s and wears it well.

Hmmm... well she is definitely the prettiest politian we've had since Sarah Palin so I guess that is the media interest in addition to her platform (that I saw nothing about in this article). I just don't see her as a president though. Very Martha Stewart... smart, a lot of media... domestic with all those kids. Hilary Clinton is homely enough to be president but that Tammy Wynette standing by her cheating man didn't work for me--and she's not running anyway. Geez, I guess Romney for no other reason than he appears to have fortitude, brains and morals. Gotta get the dems out to save our economy.

She looks amazing for a woman in her 50's. I'm not sure how you even out tone without foundation or powder. Tinted moisturizers don't do much. Maybe a hat or bangs to all that light is not on her. Pam Anderson wishes she looked so good.

As far the article, if I were politican I'd be happy to be getting some press for any reason.

The bigger issue here is that Bachmann is pushing a book while running for president. Which is it? A book tour or a bid to be taken seriously by the American people? Since the latter is out as an option, I hope her book sales compensate her for being the next loser on the campaign trail. And I do hope she keeps her promise not to run again for her Congressional seat. She'll be at work on her next book on how she was a victim of the left-wing press (even though it has been GOP/TP voters who have rejected her).

All of these losers are taking a page from Sarah Palin's ill-conceived route to glory: write a book, blame others and make money on the speaker's podium. Oh, and stay long after your fifteen minutes are over.

Only women have to put up with this kind of nonsense. Why don´t you write about the lines on Ron Paul´s face. Shame on you HuffPost.
