Espen Fadnes, Wingsuit Flyer, Hits 155 Miles Per Hour In Norwegian Gorge (VIDEO)

First Posted: 12/05/11 03:41 PM ET Updated: 12/05/11 03:43 PM ET

Espen Fadnes looks calm and collected before jumping off a 4,068 foot cliff in Stryn, Norway.

"I'm terrified," Fadnes is quoted as saying in the YouTube video documenting his flight. "I've just developed techniques and methods to cope with the fear."

With that, Fadnes jumps and begins flying at speeds of up to 155 mph in his wingsuit through a gorge in Stryn, Norway, according to the Daily Mail.

Wingsuit flying is nothing new for Fadnes, who won the ProBase Wingsuit Race in 2010.

But for this flyer, the daring jumps can be as good as a trip to a psychologist.

"The walk up the mountain can be like therapy," Fadnes says in the video. "Your hesitations are always worse when you're on level ground."

When he flies over the cameramen on the ground, he sounds like a jet powered aircraft.

Fantastic! Makes it look easy but a lot of preparation made it so. For me, I'll take a wing suit that is inflatable with helium and float down at 3 knots...

I would do a glider but I could never do that. Still waiting for the wing suit that flaps and moves like a bird.

The last time I saw a suit like this, Wile E. Coyote swooped down, missed the Road Runner, flew back up, flew into a cliff, had his wings stick to the cliff, and fell down to the ground with just the suit and the pipes where the wings should have been.

That’s not flying, it's falling with style.

I don't think there is any way I could find the nerve to do that. I could see skydiving, just not trying to imitate a flying squirrel.

lol, I could do skydiving or gliding but not 155 mph in a tux.

I've seen this video, it's blocked at work but I recognize the still. This guy is an absolute pro, and you can tell he's "flown/glided" this "path" before. There are times where he's literally inches from the cliffs edge and at one shot the cameraman had to dive out of the way because he was too low. Such an awesome video.... he makes it look so easy.

The 'point of view' camera shot looks just like a recurring I have had for 40 years. Except, at the end when I near the ground I arch my back and level out until I stall and land gently on my feet.
