Bloomberg:

To: The Upper Ones From: Strategy Committee Re: The Counterrevolution

As usual, we have much to celebrate.

The rabble has been driven from the public parks. Our adversaries, now defined by the freaks and criminals among them, have demonstrated only that they have no idea what they are doing. They have failed to identify a single achievable goal.

This is great satire. We might only wish the authorities would leave OWS alone for the reasons stated.

kellan capital For the most part people are missing the point. This isn't about getting a job, or having a job, or keeping your money vs all-out socialism. The system is rigged from top to bottom. Read Boomerang. As great as it is for entertainment value it is a great summary of the real systemic problems. The elite (.001 %) have rigged the system. They can gamble (leverage) as much as they like within the system they built (political influence), and the very size of the gamble guarantees the payoff (win the bet or get a bailout). I am in the 1% and I DO NOT feel safe from the .001%. So I take the side of the 99% and will agree to pay more to fund well executed programs for education and family services in hopes of a brighter future for more citizens. Simply put, if you want to change America you must remove money from politics. If not this great country will always be up for auction to the highest bidders

Another idea is to put more money into politics. There has to be a point of diminishing returns, and after that, actual issues and the personal interests of the most people will begin to matter again. We are talking about the conditions of our lives and the prospects both of our young and the complete future of the United States as a worthwhile nation: How can it ever be said that it is better to do it more cheaply.

So, OK. Where does the money come from?

Maybe we all should join the OWS and call it "sweat equity."

I wish everyone-including the members of Occupy would read his books-espeacially "The Big Short".
What next?
Well nothing until the great paper empire based on trading valueless paper wants to cash in for its money-once again someone will be left holding the bag.

There is a chapter in The Next Next Thing about Indian programmers trying to make medical software. Despite the success of Deep Blue and the best commercial computers available, they are unable to succeed and offer their work as a prospective model for improvements. This -- and some personal experience with a very expensive system where I worked -- is on my mind when I scorn Indian programmers.

At the job, an Indian programmer finally showed up to tell us about "mission creep" and told us to learn to live with what we had. The in house programmer had been doing better with Lotus 123.

I agree. All those who are excessively wealthy with the presumption of being either smarter, better, bolder or even luckier, who want to continue in the same direction without moderating balance in a growing and unstable inequity, please leave. Leave the problem to those who are more serious minded about a future that isn't self-obsessed classism. Europe, our shining example of a class system gone awry created our greatness through their excess and unfair limits to how high an average citizen can go. Without a belief and practical reality in an American dream of equal opportunity, then I would suggest leaving may be the safest route possible, because America without a dream is doomed. Then their wealth is just an illusion.

Well said, Mr. Lewis. So, now what?
09:48 AM on 12/05/2011
It looks like these people have their heads in the sand. They are shouting victory like George W did on the aircraft carrier claiming we won the war in Iraq. Didn't quite work out that way, did it. Come spring time, These guys will see the largest protests in the history of this country. So much for their victory over the rabble.

Much as in the satire " A Modest Proposal",

this article works because there is a large element of truth underlying

the humor.
