'Real Housewives Of New York' May Have Invited Back Fired Castmember

With filming underway for the new season of "The Real Housewives of New York," it's still hard to believe that Alex McCord, Jill Zarin and wacky Kelly Bensimon won't be back to share their drama on camera. However, now one of the ladies is confirming that Bravo wanted at least one of the fired housewives to appear on the fifth season.

"Before filming began, Bravo and I discussed me making cameos throughout the fifth season," ex-housewife Alex McCord tells me. "Eventually, I decided against it. I didn't want to be the backup if things didn't work out with any of the new girls."

Although there have been mixed reports about the new women -- Carole Radziwill (a distant relative of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis), fashion designer Heather Thomson and Wall Street wife Aviva Drescher (who is related to Fran Drescher) -- things must be going well as none of the fired ladies have yet been called to jump in and save the day.

"The girls have traveled to London and Miami, shooting," a Bravo insider tells me. "And although Sonia, Ramona and LuAnn have the advantage of knowing how the shows work, don't think the new women haven't figured out fast how to make sure they get as much airtime as possible."

The same insider insists that neither Zarin nor McCord have been invited back this season and warns against rumors that the network is already looking for season six replacements: "We are not casting for the next season. We don't even know until this new season airs if there will be another season. I assure you there is no one signed on for any next season."

I am so glad that Alex and Simon aren't coming back. Those people are so fricken weird its not funny. And the way they raise their son is ridiculous. He's a brat. They make excuses for his behavior. Not much different than the other HWONJ..Teresa and her evil children. The apple sure doesn't fall to far from that tree. I used to like watching these but am getting tired of the petty drama all the time. I say Good Riddance to bad trash!

My friend met Alex and said she was one of the nices people you've ever met. I don't think I'd really make a judgement based on watching RHONY, its just for entertainment.

I could not stand Alex McCord. She and her husband were so over the top last season. Alex and Simon behaved as if Simon not being allowed to speak at the marriage equality rally was an affront to the marriage equality movement. I guess he was Harvey Milk.

It was gross to me.

I used to really like several of the Housewives franchises, but they've deteriorated into nothing more than junior high cat fights. Totally ridiculous. They make women look like complete airheads. I liked Jill and Bethany the best. Kelly was a total train wreck, although she did get better this season. And Alex used to be kind of normal up till this past season when she went psycho! Ramona is just plain nuts. Did you see how she treated that poor girl she was interviewing, telling her she should use her skin products? And is she high or just drunk all the time?
