Acne

Would you ever be able to bare your biggest insecurity for millions of viewers to watch on YouTube? 19-year-old model Cassandra Bankson did just that, creating a makeup tutorial to show other teens how she covers up her severe acne. You'll never believe the before and after shots in this video, which has gotten over 2 million views. Hundreds of commenters have praised Cassandra for being brave enough to show what she looks like in her natural state -- 100 percent makeup-free -- and to tell her how beautiful she is, both inside and out.

Her video also shows how much work it takes for models -- whether airbrushed on the cover of a magazine or expertly covered-up by a team of makeup artists -- to look as good as they do. Cassandra never let her acne get in the way of her dreams of becoming a model, and now, her ability to embrace her flaws to develop true beauty confidence is inspiring millions of fans on YouTube.

What do you think of Cassandra's transformation? Would you ever post a photo of yourself without makeup on Facebook or Twitter? Sound off in the comments.

Your video is great I know the feeling but you have got to try Clinique's Even Better foundation!. I have used it for 4 years I had acne discoloration and some scarring. Not only did it even my complexion but it's properties calm my skin, is light wt., covers like a pro and has buildable coverage and keeps my acne at bay. Also try Even Better dagrance dark spot corrector over time clears skin uneveness and keeps redness down. It is fragrance free which can affect skin. THANK YOU FOR INSIRING SO MANY! You look marvelous inside and out! SJW Norfolk, Va.

Takes me back to my high school days when I had bad acne. We didn't have the makeup and stuff that's out there now, I had to make do with that horrible flesh-tone Clearasil and a bottle of smelly tan Cover Girl foundation. Ick. The ONLY thing that helped my acne was visits to a dermatologist and time.

I'm not a teenager anymore, and I don't suffer from acne but I do have rosacea which can be a pain in the butt lol. I applaud this beautiful young woman for helping others and allowing people to see that models have insecurities just like everyone else. With or without makeup, she is gorgeous!

Read Mary Ann Crenshaw's Book "Super Beauty"! She will introduce you to simple ways that you can get rid of the acne! Simple: OIL Soap (HOT!!)Water ;0) The only time my face breaks out is after each holiday when I eat junk!!

When you have chronic acne like she does the only thing that clears it up is prescription drugs like Accutane. Unfortunately, this type of acne isn't a result of diet or stress, it has to do with how your skin produces oil. Drug store products and home remedies do nothing for this skin condition.

How are male teens supposed to cover their acne?
08:59 AM on 04/19/2012
Go to your local Clinique counter they have coverup products that contain acne preventing properties that will not help the skin to break out more like most heavy coverups. Also if you already wear an SPF try Clinique's new BB creme but don't add extra spf because it can lead to breakout. First apply Clinique's acne solutions face kit, Even Better serum then BB creme in your shade. Make sure to use Acne solutions kit morning and evening and only swipe the toning lotion once over each area of the face so you do not dry out and use acne sol. moisturiser sparingly avoid eyes and lips. They have a acne body bar too. SJW Norfolk Va.

Hey now- acne is not just a teen problem. I look forward to the day when zits are no longer an issue for me. When is that going to happen, anyway? I see myself as an 85 year old woman with pimples lining my wrinkles, my Stridex right next to my dentures. I have even named my zits to become closer to them in the hope that I may learn to embrace each of them for their unique contribution to my face. They don't appreciate me, regardless of my efforts to accept them. They do however, continue to move onto my face in large numbers, so it must be pretty comfy here. I can swear that some of them have even married and procreated.

Anyway, where was I going with this? Oh yeah- this girl is really beautiful and she did a fine job at covering her blemishes. Mine are just plain zits. I wish you all an acne-free day :)

http://3hourspast.com/2010/11/11/vintage-skincare-ill-try-anything/ I use a semi-daily simple oat bran mask.... It helps WAY more than anything else I've tried, it's gentle and moisturizing, too. And cheap. So cheap. It works rather well, hooray for trolling vintage ladies' magazines for beauty advice. :)

She's so inspirational.

I've had acne all my life and see a dermatologist regularly and while I truly feel for this girl, you cannot deny that the sheer amounts of makeup she is using is contributing to the severity of her condition. My dermatologists are very strict in the type of makeup and amounts I am to use, and I really think she should take that into consideration in addition to the medications she uses.

I have rosacea and I find that dermablend works miracles-and it is dermatologist recommended. I'm from Canada so I don't know if you guys have it there but if you do I would definately try it.

I am sure she is on a medical routine, especially since she said it was getting better. My daughter had to use accutane twice and it is really hard as a teen (boy or girl). Make up is fine, cleaning your face well everyday is important. Great video and I saw a couple of products I'd use.

Not sure why I clicked on this story. But I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't just seen it.

So this why makeup is a multi billion dollar industry, huh?
