Colbert Report Denver International Airport Conspiracy Segment Features William Tapley, 'Third Eagle Of The Apocalypse' (VIDEO)

First Posted: 12/06/11 12:00 PM ET Updated: 12/06/11 08:07 PM ET

William Tapley, the "Third Eagle of the Apocalypse" and "Co-Prophet of the End Times," first made waves back in June when his Denver International Airport theories earned a spot on Anderson Cooper's 'Ridiculist.'

Tapley's detailed analysis of DIA's many murals (and phalluses, apparently), are again in the national spotlight. A recent Colbert Report segment features an interview with the 'Third Eagle,' DIA spokesman Jeff Green, and a detailed breakdown of how the '2012 end times' may begin with, "Welcome to Denver International Airport." Watch the Colbert video, above. Some of William Tapley's DIA conspiracy videos are featured in a slideshow, below:

I think this guy spent Parochial school drawing phallic images on his textbooks and Sister Mary Manson knocked the Satan out of him. Another fine product of religious instruction. Either that, or he was dropping acid while watching Dr. Gene Scott.

oh mu gosh that was funny. what a nut. Personally I dislike the horse with the demon eyes and that blue color. Before DIA was opened, they were giving tours of the facility. The first time I saw the mural I was disgusted. it is really awful and I don't understand what the artist was trying to depict. I remember hearing how DIA is a Masonic creation. there are a lot of Mason symbols around it. there are also lots of granite with fossils in them in the flooring. next time you go through the airport look down...the flooring is really interesting. I've had people up here in Montana who swear that there is at least 5 levals below DIA...could be but none of my relatives who work out there can confirm it. lol

I lived in Denver when DIA was built. I say there aren't ENOUGH phallic symbols. For those of us who never see the real thing, phallic symbols are all we have.

Colbert has TOTALLY ripped of Anderson Copper! Shame on you, but well done on keeping your production budget in line!

As someone who flies in and out of Denver twice a year like clockwork on my visits home for Christmas, that blue horse is a part of my psyche. It's eyes glow red, which is just what a nervous flier wants to see on the way to the departures lounge! Incidentally, the statue is a bonefide murde.rer, every bit as bad as it looks: it actually ki((ed its sculptor!! Not kidding at all:

Would locking William Tapley, the "Third Eagle of the Apocalypse" and "Co-Prophet of the End Times," up in the State Mental Hospital in Pueblo be an appropriate use of taxpayer money?

If he's not a danger to himself or others, yes. It would be a terrible waste of taxpayer money. But an excellent use of Comedy Central's programming budget.

You know, you aren't that far off - that it is cursed. I believe that it fell on the artist and crushed him prior to them setting it up so everyone driving by can be horrified. Those red eyes...

You are right, it did fall and kill the artist.

And yet the blue bear peeking into the convention center downtown is absolutely charming. The problem with the horse is the emaciated blue body and the orange eyes. I agree it's ugly and hope that folks don't confuse this thing with anything having to do with the Broncos whose colors are blue and orange.

Should have been an orange horse with blue eyes, but then it would have been confused with John Boehner.

I've always said that blue horse with glowing orange eyes was demonic and as a Pagan I don't believe in the "devil". What a wackjob - Colbert's take was awesome and next time at DIA (a few weeks from now) I'm going to be doing a thorough exam of the artwork!!

The only thing hinky I saw was that it is so far out in the middle of nowhere. Like 9 miles off the main road just to get to the terminal.

The blue horse is almost universally h8ed by us Coloradoans, so much so that we -- admittedly a bit cruelly -- tend to find it funny that the thing fell on the artist and killed him. Delivered 12 years late and $350,000 over budget, and it's just a plain creepy greeting for visitors to Denver.
