Newt only 2 points behind Mitt against B0 here too.

According to Pollster's charts Mitt now trails B0 by 2.2 points and Newt by 6.1. Newt trail Mitt by mere 3.9 points now.

To boot, these charts are backward looking, and hardly representative of current volatile environment. Newt's numbers include polls from some time ago, and his current polls are better than his average.

Mitt's been VERY stable against B0 all year, ranging from around -1 to -5. Newt, OTOH, trailed by double digits earlier in the year, around 15+ points back in May and early June. If you look at actual polls back then, there were lots 18, 19, 20, 21 point deficits.

Point being, there are no safer or preferred opponents for B0. Whoever leads the GOP primary race, will do just as well against him as anyone else.

Secretary of State John Bolton! Thanks Newt, nothing like the cannonfodder of a Bush era lackey to define your foreign policy.

Not to mention it's sort of breaking the law.

The clause is on Newt's side based off the wording, but nonetheless.

Check the cross tabs on this poll. 38 percent polled are from the south, vs the fewest from the northeast, and 22 percent for the west and 22 percent for the midwest. No wonder Gingrich is only trailing by 4. That is my first observation I could make on this poll.

Um, you kind of left Ron Paul off at 3rd with 11%.
