Jennifer Lopez Martial Arts (PHOTOS): Singer Gets Tough On Beach

Don't mess with Ms. Jennifer Lopez. We should have learned the first time from her kick ass performance in "Enough" that Lopez isn't one to play around with.

The diva recently hit the beaches of Uruguay to show off just what she's made of. She rolled up her jeans to throw a few punches and high kicks with a local group of capoeira -- a Brazilian dance-based martial art -- professionals.

Lopez on a beach, showing off her abs, and throwing punches? What more could you ask for.

She looks cute in the photos. she does not look tough. Or particularly graceful.

There is one actress I've seen, just one, who has looked convincing in action scenes where she's beating up a bunch of huge men: Jennifer Garner. (And it's not a matter of gender, it's a matter of size: you put the Men's Ultimate Fighting Flyweight World Champion, who probably weighs about the same as Lopez or Garner, into the cage with any mediocre Super Heavyweight ultimate fighter, and the little guy is going to be in trouble.) You know who did all of Jennifer Garner's stunts in "Alias"? Jennifer Garner. I imagine no stuntwoman could've kept up. Ever since that shot in the "Alias" pilot where Garner wrapped her leg around a big guy's neck, while still standing steadily on her other foot, to hold his head still for the knockout punch -- ever since then I've been a huge Jennifer Garner fan. If anybody knows of anyone else, man, woman or child, who has those kinds of moves, please, tell me, I'd love to know. (And don't say Uma Thurman, cause that's Zoë Bell doing Thurman's stunts in Kill Bill. And Bell is great, but Garner's better.)
