Starbucks Wedding: Oklahoma Couple Marries In Coffee Shop (VIDEO)

First Posted: 12/08/11 12:08 PM ET Updated: 12/08/11 05:58 PM ET

It's not unusual for romances to blossom over coffee. One cute MacBook spies another at Starbucks, small smiles are exchanged, cut to a scene of their wedding day -- it's the stuff of (cheesy) rom-coms.

But for real-life Oklahoma couple, Eva McCarthy Capparello and Carmine Capparello, sharing coffee was literally the foundation of their relationship. The pair met on a dating site in 2008, but had their first face-to-face encounter in 2010 over a cup of joe. After that, they spent hours getting to know each other over coffee.

So when they decided to tie the knot, it seemed fitting to say "I Do" at their local Starbucks -- the place that helped them to solidify their romantic bond. They did just that on Tuesday, taking over a local Starbucks with 50 of relatives and friends to say their vows.

"We fell in love over coffee," Eva said. "When he was [serving with the Navy] in Iraq, my Mom and I met at that particular Starbucks every Tuesday night for coffee. That's what kept me grounded."

It's a sweet story, but a surprising venue -- though it's certainly not the first time a couple has tied the knot in an unexpected locale. Click through the slideshow below to see other couples who have said "I Do" in surprising places.

A 99 Cents Only Store in Hollywood decided to make September 9, 2009 (09/09/09) a very special day for engaged couples (nine of them, to be exact.) For the low cost of 99 cents, each couple said their "I Do's" in aisle 9 of the discount store, which provided all the décor for the wedding ceremony and reception--from their very own inventory.

Hey, my wife and I met online, but that doesn't mean we wanted to get MARRIED there...

If they love eachother and are happy (and have a good marriage) then more power to them. Over the top lavish weddings are kind of missing the whole point. Marriage is about spending the rest of your life (hopefully) with the person you love not the large expensive wedding/party. All that's left after the party is just you and your other half.

Sorry, but I can't see spending all this time, money, and effort on a wedding that will be over in a few hours. I'm sure Kim Kardashian spent more time planning her wedding than the actual marriage!

Glad to know that Starbucks is good for things other than a $6 cup of coffee/latte, or whatever the heck they call coffee these days.

TO ALL OF YOU WHO THINKS THIS IS FUNNY! I happen to know the father of the bride as he does my taxes every year and yes I live in Tulsa....Having said that, I was told by her Father that this was going to take place and thought it was lovely! How dare people make jokes about someone's else's choices! At least their love affair happened from what started out as friends who fell in love for all the RIGHT reasons!! Take that one Kim Kardashian...Maybe if she went for true love like Ava and Carmine there would be less divorce. At least Ava's ceremony made the news for the RIGHT reasons never asking for this to be a spectacle ( like Kim K). They are a great family whom I have great respect for and have know for years. Sounds like most of you have miserable lives to trash someone else's idea for a wedding venue. To each his or her own! At least theirs made news for ALL the right reasons, Much luck and happiness to both of them!

I was with you until you brought Kim K into the mix. What does she have to do with this? Why did you feel the need to bash a stranger to justify your friends choice? Congrats to the newlyweds.

"Do you take this mans triple soy, decaf, no foam latte to be your lawfully designated cup of coffee?"

What ever happened to the dignity of marriage.

The dignity of marriage, or the big unaffordable hoopla show of a wedding?

I guess I am talking about the spectacle people make of themselves or spend large amounts of money on a wedding (Kardashian). A marriage ceremony should have some dignity because of the seriousness of the institution of marriage. You don't need to spend a ton of money either, Just a minister or priest and a few friends is all you need, no fancy dress or big party afterward.

Its inexpensive but why not just get married by a mayor its fast easy and you are not interrupting people in coffee shops or stores where you decide to get married.

I met the love of my life on a dating site and we had our first meeting at Starbucks!!!! Maybe we will get married there too!
