Rachel Crow: 13-Year-Old Eliminated On 'X Factor', Breaks Down On Stage

First Posted: 12/09/11 11:34 AM ET Updated: 12/09/11 11:47 AM ET

It was an even more drama-filled night than usual on Thursdsay's X Factor elimination. After a stellar performance of Etta James' "I'd Rather Go Blind" on X Factor last night, 13-year-old crowd favorite Rachel Crow was sent home in a shocking elimination. When it came down to the wire with just Rachel and Marcus Canty remaining, the judges' decision was split. So the decision went to America, and voters chose Marcus.

Rachel collapsed on the stage in tears, and mentor Simon Cowell rushed over to console her. After she had recovered, Rachel told host Steve Jones, "I hope this is not my ending, you know what, I know it's not."

And this isn't the first time a young X Factor favorite was booted in surprising elimination: 15-year-old Drew Ryniewicz was devastated when she was sent home earlier this month.

Check out this video to see what went down.

i wish xfactorusa.com would put out a statement why they sabotaged the group "illusion confusion" i was in the audience in Miami they came on right before Melanie and totally ROCKED the bank Atlantic center, they got TWO standing ovations,Simon said "fantastic, you are the best group in the competition by far" and i remember Paula said" i'd love to bathe in Illusion Confusion"the arena broke out in laughter. made it to final 32 yet that awesome audition NEVER shown,2 performances judges house never shown and final straw all other 31 acts perform undisturbed yet theirs was sabotaged with a talking interveiw over theirs ,even Yahoo music critic Lyndsey Parker wrote article(judges house part 2) 3 weeks ago and stated xfactor had to have something personal on these guys, notice youtube vid(bootcamp group 7)again get shafted as they only show them dancing in background.i wrote to xfactorusa.com and asked and they banned me from posting, just for asking why? thats pretty deep to ban someone for a question, must be touchy subject. wish more people would write or post on their site and ask why they felt they had to sabotage these guys,oh and i KNOW at their judges house perf, Paula's face and"on the fence comment WERE edited in from ANOTHER group they were commenting on,they SHOULD put up their 1st audition, what are they scared of?
to all my fellow hispanics the above was done to 3 Cuban singers who made it all the way to final 32

Simon needs to take back control of his show. This kind of stuff never happened on American Idol......

That is because 12 year olds in fly over states are voting 2500 times. Idol has become milk toast, and if Xfactor is not careful, will go the same way.

How does Canty keep moving on? Rachel was far more moving than he was last night. I just don't think that boy can sing, and the same for Renee - how are Rachel and Drew gone before these tone-deaf bozos? All I've got to say is that Josh, you'd better win this thing!! Yeah, Melanie can belt it out and she has a beautiful voice, but Josh, oh my, that voice! I'm certainly in line to buy his CD!

You know how the show works. Taking the word of the show, he always has enough votes to stay in whether from the judges or the public. He is not bad but others are better. Just wasn't Drew or Rachel and I agree with that. Drew would have been gone weeks before she actually left had it been up to me. Better get out and vote for your favorite.

Personally, I was not a ' Rachel fan ' from the beginning... I would not have let her gone through this far... Some of the other's were far better than she... She seemed to be a bit spoiled and immature... Of course, that's to be expected considering her age... Listening to Rachel's comments to her Mom on stage, had her Mom led her to believe she had nothing to worry about & she'd move on forward ?? Never get it set in your head that you've won something before the final vote.. Strange things happen..

Rachel's reaction to being sent home was anything but immature.

Not to be confrontational with the other reply, but I do agree with you. Her reaction was a reminder of how old she is. I really liked Rachel and thought she could show a lot of emotion in her singing, but thought others voted off were better than her. However, I do agree with LA that maybe she should be in film somewhere; she's cute and has the charisma to pull it off. It is my opinion that she is just too young to embark upon this industry just yet. Let's see who wows us this week...though I'm quite impartial to Josh.
