Karen Swift Update: Missing Tennessee Mom's Body Found

The body of Karen Swift was found just two miles from her Tennessee home, nearly six weeks after the 44-year-old mother was reported missing.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge John Mehr told CNN that the body was discovered Saturday in Dyer County, near Bledsoe Cemetery.

Swift was last seen at 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 30.

Later that day, her 2004 Nissan Murano was found abandoned on the Millsfield Highway, roughly half a mile from her home, 77 miles northeast of Memphis.

"I just want to know who it was [who committed the crime] and I want them prosecuted," Janet Ross, a friend of Swift's from high school, told KAIT8.com.

Swift, a mother with four children, had filed for divorce on Oct. 11, citing irreconcilable differences. However, she and her husband, David, were still living together.

David Swift has been interviewed by police, but no suspects have have been named.

The husband doesn't fit. The couple had divorced before without incident. According to Karen Swift's friend interviewed on CNN, this divorce was amicable and focused on caring for the children.

Karen Swift had conflict with a neighbor recently, who lived just across the street.

Karen Swift was at a party with friends until her daughter called asking to return home from a sleepover. She was not having a good time.

Gotta look at the neighbor and the party crowd. There is a known serial killer on the loose in Tennessee. Rushing to judgment on the husband at this point doesn't work for me. I want more evidence. Blood in the house and car. Murder weapon tied to husband. Haven't seen that yet. I will apply the presumption of innocence until I see compelling evidence - proof beyond a reasonable doubt.

It was the husband. The courts are so hard on men during a divorce, husbands seem to be using violence to be able to keep their children and possessions. Of course this is no excuse for this behavior but it needs to be discussed as a possible motive.

I doubt that a husband who would treat the life of his wife so casually as to kill her, has any feelings for his kids either. As possessions maybe, and that he doesn't want to suffer the hit to his status of not having control over them any longer, but as living breathing kids? Nope.

It is always the most dangerous time for a woman when she asks for a divorce. I don't wish to assume, but I wouldn't be surprised if the reason for wanting the divorce was related to abuse. How sad.

my ex tried to kill me when i told him I wanted a divorce, that was the first time. i kept a knife under my pillow. the second time I told him, he tried to kill my son, and was severly beaten with 3 basebalkl bats. To this day, we don't know "who" did it. but he deserved it. And if this guy did in his wife, may he face the max penalty> When a woman wants out of a marriage, let her go and move the hell on!

If he was black he would already be up under the jail and all of you on here defending the husbuand would have convicted him just for being black. This is not to say the husband is guilty. Just my thoughts
