Michelle Obama Breaks World Jumping Jacks Record

WASHINGTON — Michelle Obama now holds part of a world record.

The first lady announced in an email Monday that her October bid to break the record for the most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period succeeded. Mrs. Obama says 300,265 people participated, shattering the old record.

In order to achieve her goal, Mrs. Obama led about 400 elementary and middle-school students from Washington in jumping jacks on the South Lawn of the White House. Other jumping jacks events were held around the world on Oct. 11.

The effort was organized by National Geographic Kids magazine in support of the first lady's Let's Move! initiative to promote physical fitness and healthy eating for children.

Why would you think getting all those children to do jumping jacks makes her not proud of America? Isn't that stretching it? Don't get your logic.
She's done a lot for this country and especially the kids. Only someone who cares would go to all the effort (and be successful, too!)

Exercise is the single most important thing anyone can do to improve their position in wide range of health metrics, which will do more than any one other thing to reduce healthcare costs in America.

Anytime you can bring physical fitness to the forefront it is a good thing....Our children are overweight because of video games and lack of exercise. However...why aren't there any White kids in this video???? For a party who's always trying to be inclusive of everyone...WHERE ARE THE WHITE KIDS???????????

Obesity is a problem for a variety of reasons. Saying it's due soley to video games is a vast oversimplification. Minorities are at higher risk for obesity. You've been overrepresented in the media for decades. Share and let someone have a turn.

Sad and Pathetic that the haters just can't get behind programs that are great for all Americans. Michelle is a beautiful and smart first Lady who has done more to make the obesity issue front and center to work to erradicate it than anyone else. She and Jill Biden have done more than any other First/Second Ladies in helping Veterans and their families. The disrespect these two women get is an outrage and so predictable considering the stupidity from where it stems! Go Michelle go! Get those kids in shape!

This is great that the first lady is doing something that is geared towards everyone. Sure she's not perfect but everyone expects her to do. All of this negativity when he just helped to break a world record is shameful and disrespectful...there are other issues that people are feeling that is being said in these comments instead of what you just read.
