'The Lying Game' Star Alexandra Chando Talks New, Intense Season

"The Lying Game" comes back with a vengeance in 2012 and its double-leading lady Alexandra Chando dished about what to expect when the show returns Jan. 2.

"The premiere picks up from where the finale left off," Chando told The Huffington Post. Though she really couldn't give away too many details, she teased that "some things are revealed" when we revisit Sutton, Emma and the rest of the secret-filled gang.

The ABC Family teen drama -- based on the book series of the same name by "Pretty Little Liars" scribe Sara Shepard -- centers around long-lost adopted twin sisters Sutton and Emma who switch places in order to find their birth mother. It's full of all the twists and turns you'd expect from from a teen soap, often leaving both viewers and cast members wondering just what's happening at times.

"Every now and then I'll talk to Chuck Pratt, who's our executive producer and creator, and he'll give me some tidbits," Chando said of learning where the story is going. "But honestly, I don't even like to know. I like to sit down and find out for the first time what happens when I read the script."

Chando may be left in the dark when it comes to where the story is headed, but she is also pulling double duty. She plays both Sutton and Emma on the small screen soap -- a task the 25-year-old actress admits can be a heavy load to bear.

"It's pretty challenging," Chando said of playing two polar-opposite characters, adding that it's especially hard when using body doubles in scenes. "It's weird because I have to kind of try to remember how I'm going to act so I can react, so it kind of becomes a little bit of a mind game. I have to take a step back and get some clarity on the situation."

And playing two roles also means she has to spend twice as long on set.

"It makes the days a lot longer, because you're spending double the time on one scene," she said.

We'll certainly be seeing more of Chando when "The Lying Game" returns with its winter premiere Jan. 2 on ABC Family. Need a "Lying Game" refresher? Check out the video below!
