Apparent Murder-Suicide In Chelsea Leaves Brandon Romero, Kenneth Waldron Dead
Two men are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Chelsea Monday.
The New York Post reports Brandon Romero, 20, accompanied his female cousin to her ex-boyfriend's apartment in 413 W. 16th St. in the Fulton Houses complex to retrieve some of her belongings.
When the distraught ex-boyfriend, Kenneth Waldron, 29, allegedly pointed a gun at Romero's cousin, Romero tried to wrest the gun away. He was shot in the head and chest and was stabbed. He later died at Beth israel Hospital.
Waldron then reportedly shot himself in the head. He was declared dead at the scene.
The motive? According to The New York Times :
A woman who knew both victims emerged from the taped-off building around the corner from Chelsea Market and said: "It's nothing to do with gangs, money, anything. It's personal."
