MLive:

U.S. Rep. John Conyers is calling on the Lowe's home improvement chain to "unequivocally apologize" to the Muslim and Arab American communities after pulling its advertisements from TLC's "All-American Muslim" reality TV show.

The series follows the lives of five Muslim families in Dearborn, a large portion of which Conyers currently represents in Michigan's 14th District.

"Over the past 10 years, the Muslim and Arab American community in this country has faced a growing level of discrimination which threatens their quality of life," the veteran Democrat said in a released statement. "The Muslim and Arab Americans in the community of Dearborn, the State of Michigan and around the Nation, have often been the target of this intolerance."

Why is it un American to have a negative opinion of Sharia law and those who want to advance it in America?

Sharia law is the antithesis of liberal democracy. Those who prefer liberal democracy are the natural opponents of those who prefer Sharia law.

That is the historical constant in the relationship between Islam and the West over many centuries. That’s why all Muslim UN member nations subscribe to the Cairo Declaration of Human Rights in Islam in preference to the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

---------------

If you have a negative opinion of Shariah law then don't be Muslim. But if you really believe in American democracy so much then between the First Amendment and the Civil Rights Acts I'm pretty sure it includes a really strong belief in freedom of religion.

You should also own up to not believing in all of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights yourself.
