Julianne Moore Does Not Have Newfound Respect For Sarah Palin

Actress Julianne Moore does her due diligence in researching the characters she portrays on screen -- and when it came to playing Sarah Palin, there was no exception.

At an event last week, the 51-year-old actress told the New York Daily News she "read every single thing" she could about the former Alaska governor and "watched every interview" in order to prepare for her role as Palin in next year's HBO mini-series, "Game Change."

All that information must have been eye-opening for Moore, right? Not so much.

When asked if she had developed a newfound respect for Palin after all her research, the actress raised an eyebrow and sighed deeply. "No," she told the paper quietly.

In an interview with ABC News, Moore was asked about her thoughts with regard to the current political climate, now that she's portraying Palin on screen.

She told religious correspondent Father Edward Beck that she's most disappointed with how partisan it's become.

"I think the entire idea of being a country of united states, the way we formed ourselves, is to be greater than the sum of our parts. And to work together to create a whole, that benefits the majority of the people," she explained. "And right now, I feel everyone is so divisive, and so self-interested and so much about being re-elected, and special interests that I'm really disgusted. I really feel kind of ashamed."

Moore went on to comment on the research she did on the way campaigns are conducted. "So much is about how do you get on the air, how do you get the most media attention, how do you make the most noise. When, in fact, what we're all looking for is leadership," she said. "We don't want noise. We want people who are going to take care of us."

For her part, Palin didn't seem too thrilled about having Moore portray her. "I think I'll just grit my teeth and bear whatever comes what may with that movie," she told Fox News last March.

Oh really. Ms Moore...you feel the country is so divisive.......and don't you think you added to the "divisiveness" by playing your MEAN GIRL card and saying nasty things about Sarah...C'mon even you have to admit no one is surprised a liberal Hollywood 1%er would condemn a conservative...but please don't preach "DIVISIVENESS" WHEN YOU ARE CONTRIBUTINGTO IT!.......btw, did you cash the check AFTER playing the role and before you decided to get nasty

What I read up there was Moore quietly saying "No" after being asked if she had a newfound respect for Palin in an interview with the NY Daily News and speaking in very general terms about hyperpartisanship and Palin talking about gritting her teeth and "bearing" whatever comes in an interview on the Fox News Network.

I'd say the "meangirl" shoe, if anything, was on the other foot, but neither rose to the level of "nasty."

And by the way, why don't you ask Sarah if she cashed the SarahPac checks before or after she knew she wasn't going to run?
06:22 PM on 01/13/2012
Sarah didn't get any PAC Checks, those are from outside supporter. All Dems and Repubs get PAC's, so get over yourself.

I love Moore and can't wait to see the film.

Ah another PETA person heard from. Alaskans depend on caribou to survive still, and wolf populations in Alaska are growing. They were decimating heards and NOT consuming the meat. They the wolves had to be thinned. A heard of 500,000 was down to 150,000. When u spend a year in ALaska u can then criticize our wildlife management.

Hey Jim, stop with the BS! I've lived most of my life there and worked at fish and game before quitting in disgust! SP was and is despicable and will forever live in infamy for her attempted decimation of the wolves! You and I both know, that wolves are killed for the benefit of hunters, guides and those who want a rug on their floor. I've seen it, heard it and as for PETA, they are as despicable as Palin. So stop pontificating and try telling the truth. Wolves do not need to be thinned!

Don't worry, Palin lovers. The film will never be made. Your Sarah is safe.

Ms. Moore is such a great actress she will have no choice but to play the movie in character and quit halfway through filming.

Sorry, I doubt anyone will file 15 lawsuits against MS. Moore ...
Strange how libs ignore the fact that only one of those lawsuits was found to have merit.. ONLY in Alaska is it illegal for a Governor to raise money for legal defense. At the rate of 3 nuisance suits a month after the Presidential election, it was the right thing to do for ALASKA. Palin had courage and libs hate that in a woman

She's got no courage or she would have stayed and fought. At the rate of 3 suits a month? Doesn't this tell us something? They couldn't all be frivolous?
. Sarah is a grifter who quit for the money. Period.

unfortunately. One of the worst movies ever, and it's inexplicable with that cast.

The last sentence quoted says it all: "We want people who are going to take care of us." Frankly, that's the different between feedom and slavery, between the "right" and the "left", between the "tea party" mentality and what I call the "teat party mentality", between embracing government as the solution to all our needs or treating it as a necessary evil, and as George Washington warned, "a dangerous servant and a fearsome master." If we expect government to take care of this, then we will never be free. We need "leaders" to lead us back from dependence on government to dependence on God and ourselves, not lead us into more dependence on them.

Enough with the neocon talking points. If you read the whole article it is clear you are taking that last sentence the wrong way. It is a poor choice of words on her part. It is clear she means we need office holders who look after the needs of All the People first instead of themselves or pushing their far right wing social engineering agenda.

"I feel everyone is so divisive, and so self-interested and so much about being re-elected, and special interests that I'm really disgusted." It is clear she feels the government should take care of the 99% AND the 1%, not just the 1%.

This beautiful lady has more intelligence and class and talent and style in her little finger than the entire Palin klan put together. Sara is not fit to refill her water glass.

And we can "go depend on God" like you want when he Personally shows up and signs up to run for political office. None of this crap of fake middle men who claim God talks to them and tells them to run for office and how to vote. Until God or Jesus qualifies in person to run he is off the ballot like the Constitution says.

Now I know why I missed Jodie Foster in Hannibal...Moore should go back playing porn actresses instead, we all know she is such a media wh8re. Oh, she and Tina Fey have no "respect" for Palin, but they sure know how to exploit her for money... Sarah can feed a lot of discarded, menopausal actresses in Hollywood these days. And these two pictures just tell everything about the liberal media and Bluffpost.

She was asked a question, and she answered it honestly. Moore is an actress. As such, she is paid to play roles. That is not "exploitation." It's her job. Another part of being an actress is doing press interviews to promote her movies to the media. This is also part of the job. Tina Fey is a comedian. She makes her living making people laugh. Palin herself appeared on SNL, if you'll recall.

If you want to talk about media exploitation of Palin for money, I seem to recall a reality show on TLC in 2010- Sarah Palin's Alaska. This year Palin began shopping around a new reality show featuring her husband and his career as a snowmobile racer. Palin is exploiting herself and her family in order to get media attention. Your careful editing of the facts to suit your own agenda just tell everything about the conservative media and Faux News.

Reality show??? I hope you all will be on the top of things when your ex-president will be making 30-50 million a year by giving speeches and selling books about NON - fixing our economy!

I find it interesting that, in the age of spellcheck, liberals still struggle with spelling. Kind of like Obama without a teleprompter. That said, I am wondering how long this liberal venue, loosly called a newspaper, had to search to find that particular picture of Sarah?
The basis for this article is ridiculous. New found respect??? Talk about loaded questions.
Oh gee, what a surprise. Why should I expect more?
Can't lead, doesn't follow and won't get out of the way...
