D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray Hauls Out Snow Equipment For Pennsylvania Avenue Display

WASHINGTON -- With the gray skies and all the snow removal equipment parked on Pennsylvania Avenue NW, you might get the feeling that the nation's capital is about to be hit by a massive snowstorm.

Though there's no snow in the immediate future for the city, District of Columbia Mayor Vincent Gray and other city officials are putting on a show of force outside the Wilson Building to promote their winter weather preparedness plans.

The Washington Post's Tim Craig, stationed outside the seat of the District of Columbia government, noted that people walking by "seem generally confused, if not alarmed, that a big snow is imminent."

Gray is scheduled to speak at 2:45 p.m.

While there's a slight chance of rain on Thursday night, temperatures will be close to 60 degrees. Heading into the weekend, weather conditions should be dry with temperatures in the mid- to upper-40s.
