Demi Moore: Twitter Name Change Not A Priority

Demi Moore may have split from husband Ashton Kutcher last month, but on Twitter she remains @MrsKutcher -- for now.

The actress, who announced her separation from Kutcher in November after six years of marriage, took to Twitter early Wednesday to address her handle.

The actress, who has over 4 million followers on the site, has been criticized for keeping her @MrsKutcher name post-separation, especially considering Kutcher allegedly cheated on Moore back in September.

"As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life," Moore told the AP when announcing the split.

Kutcher, who knows a thing or two about Twitter drama, used the social media site to send a message about Moore after news of their separation hit the media.

"I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and Light, AK."

I would think that it would be illegal NOT to use her married name until after the divorce is final. A name change when getting married and when getting divorced is a legal matter.

Frankly, I would not want his name. He looks like a dirty pig anymore. The only thing he has to offer a woman is a nice selection of credit cards, after that, I don't see a thing that is attractive. Once a cheater, always a cheater. some people think they are made of gold, and there is a string of woman just waiting to bed him. Frankly, I would give him a good shower with a scrub brush, and wash his greasy hair. That is not attractive. Demi does not need him, her name is a huge draw, she can have any real man, not someone of Kucher's level. My best to Demi, may she find true happiness is a real man. I think Ashton Kutcher got where he wanted to be by marrying Demi Moore. He may have hadda crush on her from previous movies where she looked very young. Since he has been with Demi his career has slowly gained in stature--now he has his own show, women are after him(and hes putting up no fights on this) he doesn't need Demi any longer. Shes too thin, looks older(her age) and isn't that sweet sexy girl anymore---shes looking pretty sad right now--the sparkle has left and in its place is a middle aged woman. Sad because she really loved the guy---but 15 years looks like 15 years especially when you get thin along with it---

Here's a dumb question, and not really applicable to this situation, but how many women do you think keep their married names after a divorce. The only two women I knew growing up who were divorced by not remarried both kept their ex-husbands' names, so I grew up thinking it was the normal action, and I haven't given it much thought since then.

Is it a common thing to do?

most people kept their married names back in the day. now it's more of a statement to take the maiden one back. which seems like a pain in the rear to me, as every single piece of identifying information would have to be changed, in addition to bills, car titles (possibly) and usually children with the fathers name wouldn't have the same last name anymore as one of their parents.
