New Plan? This is the same old plan.

It is exactly the same as Medicare Advantage which offers a private alternative to ordinary Medicare. This is how well that works:

1. Medicare Advantage is a major contributor to Medicare's money problems.

2. It costs 14% more than ordinary Medicare and that differential has been rising at 1% per  Read More...

3. For every dollar of increased coverage Advantage provides, it cost Medicare $3.

4. Medicare Advantage programs provide poorer care.

5. Medicare Advantage plans are accepted by fewer doctors, clinics and hospitals.

6. Medicare Advantage plans have very high levels of fraud, waste and abuse. They have a history of tricking senior into buying coverage they don't need.

Good grief! Just another twisted version of Republic'CONS' agenda. This plan is nothing more than turning Medicare (taxpayers money) into a vehicle for subsidized private health insurance. It does nothing to reduce the cost of health care overall.

Just look at employer-paid health insurance premiums. A survey recently released by The Kaiser Family Foundation reported that annual health insurance premiums for a family of four climbed $15,000 this year. It jumped to 9%! And yes, despite the fact that there are many private health insurance companies for employers to choose from.

Americans must stay on guard and not be tricked into the latest Republic'CONS' Paul Ryan's scheme.

Ryan has no heart what so ever. The guy is in bed with big insurance. He keeps trying to cause damage in older americans lives, why ? For a few bucks in his pocket. How does the guy sleep at night.

It's time to get re-elected. He will say whatever it takes and will play nice with others until then.

This guy wants to privatize Medicare-it will make it so expensive that it will get cut, cut, cut. Ryan still has the goal to strip it out-the Republicans still want to get rid of every social program-that's never going to change-that was also a part of Ryan's Path to Destitution.

I want to see the CBPP's take on this program. Capable of a 180? Not even close if they are privatizing a part of Medicare. Question is, what about the other things are in this bill?

What do you mean a 180 degree turn. He is still privatizing Medicare. For the time being he says the government will pay the premiums. But how long will that last. I have been forced to pay into the medicare system for the last 40 years. I want what I bought anything else is pure fraud. The government has defrauded every working American for the last 40 years.

hopefully his constituents see this guy for what he is = a tepublican has no interest in their issues, except during an election cycle- then he sucks up and tries to make nice- but in reality he has no respect for his constituents-

A poll from his opponent shows that Ryan's number's are dropping. I'm not a voter in WI, but, anytime a politician starts walking back their own plan - and simultaneously kicks the can down the road "we can't even consider this until 2013" is a plaintive plea to "re-elect me and I promise" is similar to their GOP campaign slogan in 2010: elect us for jobs.

I don't buy this walk-back as anything other than another GOP: see all our jobs bills, which are nothing more than deregulation and free gifts to big business, especially energy companies.

You forgot the two brothers or they are father and son, the Fitzgeralds? One is now running for Kohl's Senate seat.  They need to go as well.

They helped cram through Walker's legislation.

Ryan and all republicans want to "Privatize" all government functions to the coorporations. Very very much like another Fascist in history Musolini.

"Benito Mussolini is recognized as the father of fascism. When asked how he would describe his movement Mussolini responded, “Fascism should more appropriately be called “Corporatism” because it is a merger of state and corporate power”.
http://www.groundreport.com/Politics/Republican-Fascism/2936214

"Upon assuming state power, ... pursued an agenda not unlike Mussolini's. They crushed organized labor and eradicated all elections, opposition parties, and independent publications. " (Paerrenti p347)
http://www.thirdworldtraveler.com/Fascism/Fascism_MParenti_CN.html

"9. Corporate Power is Protected -- The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite."
http://www.thirdworldtraveler.com/Fascism/14_Characteristics_Fascism.html

THIS is the Republican agenda in a nutshell. They are puching America to a Fascist Oligarchy of the 1% of corproate elites.

Ryans district turned on him..his days are numbered...
08:51 AM on 12/15/2011
You've gotten it backwards. He pussied out, because he saw the poll numbers, in his district. He's going to lose his job. That, alone, motivates his "deep" ideals. Typical republican scum.

Republicans now see the writing on the wall. The GOP is doomed. The right wing of the party has destroyed it. They are so far right that communism looks like a better alternative to their bigotry and racist agenda. I think after the elections, we will no longer have to worry about this group of fanatics.
