After seeing his family mocked in a new film because Hope's grandparents tricked him into signing away their likeness rights, Jimmy lamented that he wished he'd never met Hope's mother, Lucy, on "Raising Hope" (Tue., 9:30PM ET on Fox). Then in grand holiday tradition, he knocked himself out and entered 'It's a Wonderful Life," Natesville edition.
There Jimmy got to see what the world would be like had he never met Lucy, or more importantly had Hope never been born. Virginia and Burt are divorced, with Burt even more out of control and Virginia's weight completely out of control. His spirit guide through this world was a lucid Maw Maw, who turned out to have died.
Even at the grocery story things are darkly different. Lucy wound up hooking up with Barney, and never got caught. Sabrina invested her money on a boob job, which turned out to be the only thing about this reality Jimmy missed when it was over. In the end, as in all good holiday classics, he realized that the world he lives in is the best world of all, and he shouldn't worry what others think.
