Nicolas Cage And The Art Of Good/Bad: 'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance' Trailer Released

The Wickerman

Has Nic Cage become so bad he's almost good again?

He's starred in some remarkable films -- "Adaptation," "Raising Arizona" -- and he even won an Oscar for his performance in "Leaving Las Vegas." But in the last couple of years, Cage has put out some real clunkers.

His new film, "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" (how can that film lose with such a title?!) imagines the star as fire-pissing vigilante brought out of hiding to destroy the devil.

Ridiculous, sure. But please, curb your skepticism!

Here's a reason to be optimistic: The "Face/Off" phenomenon. This film imagined a scenario where Cage switches faces with his co-star, John Travolta. This film was not only a huge financial success, it was critically-lauded, earning a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Take a look at some of Cage's "worst" films (all of which have received less than 20% on Rotten Tomatoes -- there's one that even got a whooping 0%) and let us know which one tops your favorite good-bad list.

''Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance,'' hits theaters Feb. 17, 2012.

He makes good bad movies. I know they're crap, but I still enjoy watching most of them for some reason.

But I've got to disagree about 'Trapped In Paradise'. I actually genuinely liked that one.

I love Nicolas Cage movies no matter how bad they are. Kind of like Van Damme and Segal movies. You know what to expect when you go in so you are never disappointed.

But he looks good naked.

Wow, how could the remake of Bad Lieutenant not be on there? Me and my friends went to that and were absolutely howling at the screen.

One of his best roles that's overlooked was "Birdy", I think it's his 3rd or 4th movie, it was before "Raising Arizona", he was great in it, the movie was good too. I remember seeing him for the first time in "Valley Girl" of all movies! He was great in that one too!

Well, he definitely knows how to make bad movies, that seems to be his specialty.

Hey HP, where is "8mm" or "Next" on your list?

8mm in particular was bad on legendary and epic proportions.

It was truly offensive to the senses on every level.

And by senses I mean all 5 of them including a 6th one (and any additional ones) if you have one.

Trapped in Paradise is considered one of his clunkers? Wow. I loved that film.

I can not watch him any more. Sorry. He is probably a nice guy. But after dozens of awful schlock films....

Agreed. He is not a good actor, and not easy on the eyes, either.

Hey! I liked "Season Of The Witch". Cage is a very entertaining, personable guy. Lay off him.

He's certainly mastered the bad/bad film space.
